Just received notice that a rolling blackout is scheduled to hit later this week and extending through the beginning of next week from Fullerton to Irvine. So far, there has been no official declaration of the fundamental causes of the blackout, with US and Canadian cal-look owners,  Shocked   oops, I mean officials pointing fingers at each other. Just be warned that the first one one will most likely occur during the evening peak hours of 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. this Friday. One suggestion to pass time during this blackout is to have a RED CUP and enjoy by staying cool! Ha! Grin Grin Grin Roll Eyes

Did some one say RED CUPS - t minus 65 hours and counting. Guess I'll have to depend on the GPS if  there are no street lights. Grin

Steve knows that soon he'll have to repaint it to meet with the CARB desire to ban those pollution increasing black cars.

Good one Jason!  Beryl still has it's ass in the air. VERY close though. The wife is on my leg to redo the siding on the house! She really needs to get her priorities straight huh. I will get back on it after the Classic. Looks like next month for me. Undecided

And... I'm looking forward to seeing Steve's car coming in HOT, sideways, and on the sidewalls of those 7 inchers!!!!! I'm sure Dyno Don will be right behind him with the 3m towels too! Cheesy Grin

Congrats to Steve Niendorf for winning Best of Show Custom at this year's VW Classic. Both of his cars (the black '67 and the green '50 convertible won their class as well). AND, he drove the '67 from home to the Classic!

I agree with Deano. Job well done. Another interesting fact about that car. Steve made it known to us that he built that car based on the inspiration of Mark Ramirez's black 1970 MY TOY from 1980. Yes, the same D.K.K. car that won Best Of Show at Bug-In with the blue alloys. So Mark R. and a few of us DEEKS saw it to be rather fitting to walk over to Steve's incredible display and introduce Mark R. and Steve. We all had a great talk and it was history in the making.

Images to soon follow.

Again, Steve... CONGRATS!
