I have just discovered that this size exists  Cheesy I was wondering if any of you have experience with this size, I might give it a try, I'm going to use wheels with too much offset for the 175s I had planned, and maybe the 165s will fit

(yes I know, a real cal looker would have 145s  Grin)

What rims are you using? How wide are they? I would use the 175/65s since they are the same height as a 145, from the side it will still have that perfect cal look stance Smiley

Good evening alex d Smiley

If it's any help, I am using 155/65/15's on  6 x 15 Fuchs

The rear currently has 185/65/15's (also 6 x 15 Fuchs) which are looking a bit lost in the arches (stock height) since having short axles fitted, hoping a change to 205/65/15's will sort that out.  Grin

What wheels have you got, are the going onto a Beetle?  Cool

Martin.

Thankyou for the compliment Smiley, my excuse for the winter tyres is they were the best price for the size that I could find.  Grin

The rear will eventually get 205's, once a few other bits get sorted.  Cool

Martin.

They are going into my 64 beetle, I am using slot mags, they were sold to me as Ansens but they aren't, probably they are Superiors, they are around 5,5' wide, I am afraid 175 would be way too wide and they would foul the wings, according to my crude measurements. Angry

well i plan on running the 165/65/15 myself for extra grip AND since they don't make 145/15 anymore (only on special occasions for people with the cash)  Angry but it should work and on a 5,5 rim it would fit better

i know a 145 looks good, but i have a type 3 and it can use a little wider tyre to cope with the extra weight.

PS yes i know i need to train of that x-mass weight and get 145's...

You can still buy 145`s. Nangkang makes them and they work nice. And, as far as too much weight goes. I know guys that run 135`s on Hot Rods and on an occasional early Nova with no trouble.
