Introducing for the first time, baby boy August Flynn Bates born 8/19/09 at 11:54PM, 8 pounds 7 ounces, 21" tall and perfectly healthy. The plan was to do the birth as natural as possible with no pain meds but she was 2 weeks late and had to be induced. They gave her an epidural after 14 hours with no progress to relax her and we still had no progress after 5 more hours and the baby had a couple deceleration episodes so we had to do a Ceaserian birth. All is ok though, the end product is a perfect baby. It could have gone way worse and Tiff is now appreciating what we have and what could have been.

AWESOME, John! Same exact weight as my older son (now 18). My wife had both of our sons (2nd one was 10lbs. 4oz.) fully natural, in our bedroom. Same bedroom that I grew up in, too.
Stoked to see people having kids. It'll be the most rewarding responsibility you'll ever be involved with. Glad to hear that August (great name, btw) and Mom are doing well.

Yes, I chose to save lots of money in order to build my list of European cars, travel, surf, and hit skateparks. So starving the kiddies was the only viable option. He hates me, but I understand.
Back on topic; Bates, is this your first child?

I can't believe Joey is 13. Seems like yesterday when he was born. How's he doing? Tell him Uncle Jim said "hi"
