Whilst restoring my gas burner wheels yesterday a hairline crack was noticed on the rim. I am getting it welded, but any advice of the magnesium content of the wheel, and pre-heating temperatures will be appreciated, thanks

His ability with a tig welder are unreal, and he has just repaired a similar crack in my OG gasburner.  :)

Yes, the rods are bought and my friend Pete, who is also a brilliant Tig welder is sorting it this weekend, one of those things, but needs sorting now its been spotted.

Thanks for the advice, but think its all in hand. Handy number to have though, judging by the bus built by him :)

Glad you got your wheel sorted.  :)

Picked my wheel up the other day, as well as got a sender base welded into a fuel tank. If anybody needs any evidence of bob welding ability, check out this welding porn! The man is a welding god!!  ;D
