What a Welcome by you all! Since I’m a “new comer” to this site, let me introduce my self. My name is Jim Holmes, a long time VW enthusiast and was a part of the original DKP (Der Kleiner Panzers). I’ve just now retired and am finding the time to check out some of these fun things once again. I know most of you have been hearing from my good friend Jim Edminston, better known to most of us as “Sarge” and he’s the one (I might add) who actually turned me on to this site, so thought I’d jump on and say Hi. Some may remember me from the past as the second owner of the white ’63 Bug featured on the cover of the 1975 issue of “Dune Buggies & Hot VWs” / “The California Look”. It was originally owned by my, and still, good friend Greg Aronson” (part owner of F.A.T. Performance). Since then, pictures and articles of the car have popped up from time to time in various VW magazines, which have been fun to relive. Before the white car, I owned a blue ’61 with a red racing stripe running along the sides which I saw a picture of in the “Early Cal Look Section” of this site. Funny to see that car now, and how far we’ve come from those days. I now own a ’66 911 which have had since I sold the “white car” back in ’79. I’ve restored it a few times since I bought it from Greg Turney (another VW old guy). Since then the car has been featured on the cover of “911 & Porsche World” by Keith Seume. Along with that article on the Porsche, Keith inset a picture of the white car showing it on the cover of ‘Hot VW’s” along with a little write up. All cool stuff for me…ha! Well, I don’t want to ramble on with my first visit. Just wanted to introduce myself and I’m looking forward to the enjoyment of visiting with all of you having this common interest with VW’s. The '61 was pretty much stock at the time the picture was taken. We were playing around with re-jetting the stock carb. and adding headers (built by Anchor Muffler). That was the big place to get your headers built as Sarge mentioned, in those days. They look just like the ones I had. No, can't help you out with the adjustment issue. I do remember they were somewhat of a pain keeping them so. Jim's mom was obsessed with keeping the driveway totally drip free. I can still remember the "look" I got the first time I visited and rolled up in the driveway in my '63 :o ;)! I always admired that megaphone exhaust tip, too...seems like Pomeroys Muffler in Santa Ana?

My only concern is the Lounge small print. These guys do realise that attendance at at least one of the big three (SCC, DDD or EBI) is compulsory for anyone that contributes here?
