Sorry to hear that,

May I suggest you post your story at http://ultimateaircooled.com/simplemachinesforum/index.php

Allot of people that might be able to help.

I hate hearing about these type of things and when this happens we as a community need to help out

This isn't the first time I have heard this type of story linked to DRD though

Brian

Hope this suggestion is ok Trond?

If not I apologize, and feel free to delete

Geir, I am sad to read you still do not have a resolution on this. I suggest you follow Brians advise. Closer to the source and hopefully someone can pull some strings... Or that DRD get feedback they dont like to close to home.

Good luck!

This is not good, sounds like the shop here in the states in Torrance Ca. that closed up and took alot of people. My thing is if DRD is having financial problems, they should be upfront and honest to there customers, but make every effort to resolve these conflicts, or there business will be dirt. Geir, hope it all gets resolved and just a misunderstanding. And I agree with Brian, post it on UAC, maybe with pressure or feedback from others, would help resolve this. A true businessman won't let this go by.

There's a pretty lengthy feedback thread on the Samba about DRD... I was suprised to see the amount of negative feedback attached to them, as previously they had a great reputation... or so I thought.

He has been a hustler for a loong time. I warned about him on a couple of forums about 2½ years ago. I was laughed at, so I just shut up and let people run their own game.

PersonallyIi bought one thing, recieved another. (Cheaper solution) Wrote it off as an error. Ordered again, this time being VERY specific about what I wanted. Got the same cheaper and lousier solution again. Stopped dealing with him. Attitudes like that have a limited lifespan. He may have some good parts, but that doesnt help much when he does not deliver.

I suggest that Gejr attends his credit card company immediately and explain the problem, as it IS fraud at the end of the day. They may (should) be able to help you out.

I have DRD heads on my new engine and there were also a lot of discussions and problems with darren. In the end the delivery took more than 6 months longer, I got heads with other exhaust valves than ordered and match ported manifolds were more a nice try of a beginner than matchported. So a friend matched them again!

Hopefully you have a chance to get your money back.

Darren sent me a mail today.
He is packing the parts "as we speek" and they will be on its way very soon.
Hopefully I will recieve them in a week or two.

Seems to me that there has been some errors in the email conversions between us.
One tip: If you are in doubt, make a call, and talk to Vendor/seller directly.

Yep, it's always best to get the story straight from the horse's mouth, so to speak.
Nothing like real-time conversation.
Glad to hear everything seems to be working out.

Maybe you shold have considered making that phone call earlier?

A US call from a fixed phone in Norway is 0,63 øre pr minute to any fixed or cell phone in the USA. And a US call from your cell to any number in the US is 2.49 kroner pr minute.

In other words, a 10 minute call to DRD would have cost you $ 1  - hardly a huge loss considered you had a potential loss of 1900 USD.

A phone is a great tool - USE IT!

Shouldn't be necessary when the supplier has already answered his emails with promises... Why would a phonecall change it? They would probably just promise the same thing  :-)
Good thing a little pressure helped you Geir...

Why would not a phonecall change it?

Is it not worth $ 1 to at least make the call and perhaps solved any issues/misunderstandings (like missing emails in this case) BEFORE he applied pressure?

Personally I would NEVER consider making any deals without calling.

My 2 cents - worth approx 2 minutes on the phone to the US.

If a vendor chooses to advertise on the internet they should be able to do business through email. If not pull your online adds and go back to a yellow page add, problem solved.
