I just need some advise on a GOOD quality cd player wich will be used a LOT. The "hi-fi" stuff dies after a year and the so-called high-end stuff has all these features wich nobody needs.

you really want a bit of pro audio equipment like a TASCAM SS-CDR1 Solid State CD Recorder

alot safer and reliable than any domestic hifi

Hi
Ive not worked with this specific model but being hard drive based you can't go wrong
Ive worked with tascam dat machines many a time and there bomb proof

Tascam used to use the old pioneer cd recorders and improved them for reliability

Until last year I used my old Sega Dreamcast as a cd player, plugged on my TV audio system. It still works but I decided to put it on retirement Grin Was even reading mp3s with a little mod. I can't tell how many hours it worked with games, music and videos, must be more than 10 years I have it.

In the same time I had to replace two times my PS2. And I have a PS3 since 3 years, but I already had to replace the optical lens block after one year only.

officialy its pro audio ,
hi end hifi is your exotic stuff like meridian, classe ,martin logan and chord etc etc

tascam is more your mega reliable school bus that keeps on going for years

when i used to work in the audio industry you used to get what was good or not by what used to come in for repair ,denon, aiwa, technics always was in for repair pioneer ,sony ,marantz etc very rarely seen them in for repair
thats why tascam used to use pioneer cd transports and cdr decks  for there own machines

if you want to use a good old pioneer cd player as a transport you cant go wrong with a old legato link pioneer cd player and for recorders i would use the old faithful tascam modified pioneers
