That sucks Tom. Was the engine completely rebuilt or just head off?  I've std journals crank and some std rods you are welcome to if needed
.

I've a twin port engine in the barn I got with a car . Has a fair bit of end float but your welcome to the top end if it Helps. Can't  remember if it's 13 or 1600cc but will look at the weekend if you want .

Chin up

Regards Ron

Keep at it, don't give up on it yet. I think we've all had times when a breaker bar through the windshield seems like the right thing to do...

Well, here it comes to the end, and my end of aircooled ownership (for how long?!)as swapped the car for a nice mk1 gti.

I didn't achieve what I wanted to unfortunately, lost the love for it after it got vandalised
And the shoddy work that some big names had done to the car, since I sold it first time round

Luckily it's going to a friend who liked the car ever since she first saw it,and appreciates the history and how good it is for a uk car.

Haha!
I actually had a buyer for mine lined up instead, but as you already bought the 65 by this point Cheesy
To be honest, couldn't have gone to a better person, to do it full on  Cool

When I do decide to get another bug, it'd have to be a steel slider, as have wanted one for a very very long time
