who makes decent ones nowadays, stock 1600 daily runner has leaky rod tubes, so need to use these spring loaded ones as temporary fix till i have the time to drop the motor and do it properly.

the more O-rings and the heavier the spring the better -- I don't run anything but these -- for years now!!!

i have been using CSP ones for a few years and i can say they are top notch quality. JPM should be the same quality. and fast fab seems to be very decent, but i have no experience, it's what i would buy if i needed some.

I have CSP ones that leaked because the cylinders are a few mm's longer and the spring wasn't strong enough.
The last thing done to help the leaks was to add a machined aluminum spacer to give the spring more strength.
One is still leaking tho, even after the spacers were added.

The trick to keep them from leaking is to put a spare donut from the ends on the slider section so that it fits between the spring and the bigger section,,,,, That usually clears up that problem and it adds tension to the spring

I use the Fast Fab pushrod tubes on both my engines, very good quality.

Do you think that would work in my case with these CSP pushrod tubes? Here is a pic after the al spacers were installed. Would an extra donut seal fit in there ok?

i have Jaycee ones and wouldn't recommend them.
had to remove a nasty machining bur from inside each one that would have killed the O rings, and the seals are perishing after less then a year on the car and the springs aren't stainless so rusting

Interesting that none of the sellers mention anything about how they fit using longer cylinders. Are long cylinders that unusual?

I'd try pulling the spacer out and putting the donut up against the black tube --
The only ones for long cylinders were the ones Roger Crawford made at Head's up (now closed, I got the last set) and I believe Pauter is making some now....

Scat has some longer ones too. 3 o-rings.
The springs seem weaker than the ones used on the shorter tubes.
Martin: Shouldn't the smaller diameter tube's end fit against the head?
This would allow oil unhindered flow to the sump rather than pooling at the step where the two tubes join.

Yes you're right Dougy! Thanks for pointing that out. One end is larger inside than the other. According to the installation instructions:
Please note that the mounting direction
of the pushrod tube is essential!
The black end of the pushrod tube
has a larger inner diameter with is required
on high performance engines.
When you use large ratio rockers the
pushrods move up and down inside
the tube to a much larger extent than
normal. The larger inner diameter of
the CSP pushrod tubes will give extra
clearance in this area.
