If you're shaving the stock turn signals (which you ARE), you need to fill the horn grills to mount your Lucas turn signals (which you ARE)... Cheesy

It definitely still needs paint as now it attracts the "strangest" people to pose in front of the Karma Kameleon. But you can see one of the horngrill-less Day Mouldings fenders. To the left is a 67, so upright lenses match the lucas perfectly. And to the right is an aged post 66, with color coded horngrills.

To you to decide which you like best.

It's a matter personal preference, of course. You can leave or shave the grilles and/or turn indicators. Any way you go, it'll look good.

This is my '61 in '77. If i remember correctly, I drew a line from the headlight screw to the corner of the fender, then centered the light between. When I later added Euro bumpers the lights were a little too low, so bumpers or Tee bars should be considered too.
When I do my '66, I will use the headlight screw and the top of the bumper bracket to mount them a little higher and further outboard.

Sorry about the car being a 67.

If you're doing custom metalwork, then lose the horn grilles. With the grilles in place you'll not notice the metalwork as much.
