Hello,
can somebody tell me how to open up a magneto?
it's difficult Smiley
i want to try and lock it myself..
i know the weights are in the base, so is it enough to remove the bottom (part that goes into the dizzy drive shaft)
or do you have to dissassemble completely?
they sell a locking plate for vertex mags, can i use it you think?
thanks, Peter

The bottom is separate from the main body, so you can simply remove the base OK. Scintilla = Vertex... Wink

It's not how fast you go; it's how you go fast.

It helps to have the special nut driver to work on a Scintilla but you can make one by filing the end of a piece of thin-wall tubing. You can use that same tool for installing/removing your dash escutcheons if you're careful.

And in case you need lock-out plates, here goes.

While we're on the subject, is Scintilla the make and Vertex the "model"? I always thought so, but maybe someone knows for sure?
