Porsche 914 gauges

These 914 gauges arrived today. The speedometer will be mounted in the left dash grill. The rpm gauge i want to mount in the original speedometer hole.
Has anybody else done that? And how? Can’t find any photos on the internet of it.
I was thinking to put these (see photo) from the original speedometer on the rpm gauge. Don’t know if this will work

Chris's car has a 914 gauge cluster that's been welded in.
If you want to run the Porsche tach in place of the VW speedometer. Simply grind off the lip that holds the rings in place.
Go at it little by little, at some point the tachometer will fit in snugly with no need to hold it in place otherwise.

When I put the 911 tach in my ghia, I had it dampened so the needle doesnt bounce around and had mounting studs attached to the back of the guage
I had these mounting studs attached to the speedometer also.
