Sleeping Beauty 2:nd attempt

Last time I’d  tried to post this thread the whole Lounge break down. I hope it wasn’t my fault.
My “Beauty” has been sleeping enough and it’s time to restart the project.
I bought the car 1992 and the plan was to go original.
The plans changed when  i saw the orange CSP beetle at Mantorp in 1995.
With insipration from magazines,photos and a RLR catalogue a roll cage and ladder bars was fabricated .
The gearbox was raised and the axle tubes shortened 5”. The front beam was shortened and dual adjusters was welded in. Then the whole project fell  asleep depending on that I couldn’t stay in the garage that I rented. The car has since then been stored in my fathers little garage for twelve years.
Tomorrow I’m going to move the car to the place were I work. A 20ft container will be the new storage and it will be possible to work with the car in the evenings in the mechanical workshop when everybody has gone home.
I will try to post some pics during the project.

Today I moved the car from Gothenburg to Stenungsund. Why did it have to be the rainiest day for weeks. It was like driving thru
a car wash. Now the car is parked in my 20 footer and ready for next Tuesday when the next occasion is when we are able to get in to the workshop with our hobby cars.

12 years is nothing, I was renting a place for 20 years and then wrecked the car .

Is the inner shel of the roof section cut? (above the windshield) , why did you do that?

I made the cut to get the bars in the rollcage as near as possible to the roof.

Some updates about my project.
New front wheels arrived at last. I made the order in July and they arrived in November. Next time i will order parts directly from the US and not through the local speed shop.

For mock ups i bought two front tyres 135-15. It should have been "summer" tyres but something went wrong??

The roll cage and the ladder bars are fit together, it's waiting to be TIG-welded together. Last night i'd made som brackets for the window net. [ Attachment: You are not allowed to view attachments ] [ Attachment: You are not allowed to view attachments ]

The front beam are shortend 4 inch and new dropped spindels are mounted.

Now it starts to look like a car. After i had  mounted the front beam i had to try the wheels and fenders on just to see how it may look in the future.
While i was working with the car it started to snow and in 3-hours it came 4inch. There was problems to get the car back in my 20 foot container. The car stands on a wooden frame with small wheels and in the deep snow it didn't roll to much.
