What have you got planed this winter for your car ?
«

OK so the season's nearly over , what's the plan for your car over the winter ?
Personally Im going to do a partial strip down consisting of , welding up my trim hole's , taking my doors to bits and re-skinning them
going over the bodywork and tidying where necessary . cutting in some of Hooky's side access panels and a new lower fire wall section { 25hp bit don't fit too well to 2165
}
Then Im hoping to finish things off inside with a carpet set I picked up at EBI , fit my door cards and back seat .
Going to go over the dash too , with a new panel " more gauge's " and line out my glove boxes .
Should keep me busy , plan is to have a near completed looking car by the spring , hope it don't get too cold

The season is over here in Norway and the mountains are covered with snow. My 67 is hanging in the air and my plans are;
- Fit some Vredestein Sprint classic 155/15 and 205/70 tires to some tired looking fuchs I recently bought.
- Narrow the front beam approx 2"
- Change the IDA and the MSD to a DTA S60 ECU
- Try to lower the rear just a little bit. Not happy with how the car handle
- Change the 2 Holley pumps to a Aeromotive A1000 and regulator
- Modify the tank
- Change fuel to E85
- Some minor interior work
- Some electricity work
- Open up the engine, change the cam and the lifters
If time allows it I will make a project thread.

Keep on driving it, maybe make the wipers work, redo all the rubber in the doors and put on the new door panels.

blow through turbo efi to fit to the engine as the ghia project is going nowwhere this year.
maybe discs on the rear.
line lock to fit.
more dymo mat.
sort out some stone chips.
engine access panels to fit to get at the plugs.
No to bad if you say it quick.

To my 56:
AN fitting to the gas tank
Weld end plates to the front beam
Make good and finish install to the front end
Install all gauges
Then, if I have enought time....
Drop the engine
Remove gearbox
Clean up the underside at the rear
Clean up gearbox
Replace gearbox with new mounts etc
Re-install motor and possibly mount a turbo to see what happens
http://www.volkszone.com/VZi/showthread.php?t=583273
Engine wise:
Continue building (and finish) my little 1200cc motor for cruzing about Europe with.
To my 54:
Let Alex at Defcon3 finish working his magic :-) get it back home at somepoint and continue to build it up. (Instal my other motor etc)
Would be nice to get that running for next year.

I am planning body off restoration, and IRS conversion with new transmission. Car will be a basic cal-look style perhaps, but porsche 17" alloys and 4-piston brakes
I have also built fuel injected 2276cc engine from all new parts, and engine may get a new OEM brazilian fans shroud.

Top end upgrade/rebuild, stitch up some new seat covers and door panels, "upgrade" the stereo, new running boards... I'll be lucky if I get one of those done!

Hopefully I will get the body from the paintshop in a couple of weeks, so then it's just start building the car together! And the car is my '51 split window pan-off resto. Colour will be chestnut brown, polished centerlines, mendeola transmission and a N/A 2386. Hopefully I will make it to next year. Project thread? Maybe later … got a blog, but it's only in swedish.

Mine list is pretty easy.
Remove undercoating from the fender wells and buff them out.
Paint gas tank.
Re-do wheels in a little darker color.
Get ready for rest on the interior to go in this spring.

You really caught the bug, didn't you!
It sounds like what I've planned to do every winter for the past three years but never have the time or cash for it... This year is no different!
