Here`s some before and after shots of my 66 beater/driver. I don`t really have any shots of the conversion but here`s the rundown. This car was owned by a city employee here and was seen driving around town for years. He recently sold it to an old neighbor of mine and when I totaled my Fastback I was without a vehicle. So I made him an offer and it became mine. And after a few changes.... Here`s the specs so far. 1915cc (From the Fastback) Very mild but runs really good stock heads, rockers and pushrods, 110 cam, full flowed, 40 Dells, 1.5 inch merged w/dualquietpacks, system one filter, oil cooler and fan Stock geared 4.37 trans, welded hubs, steel forks and a beef a diff from Scott at Metalcraft. All rebuilt front end cb 2" beam CB disc brakes on front T3 rear drums Centerlines w/145`s and cooper 205x70`s Will post more pics later.

Did you get your trimless window rubber in? How did it come out?

Actually Jeff, they are poly bucket seats but close enough. And for Zach`s question, I used Bugpack window rubber and have to say I`m not really happy with it. It went on ok but has a big ugly seam where its bonded together and the bottom corners of the windshield have forced the rubber to stick up. Have to say it may be from the aftermarket windshield thats on the car.

It might be worth checking with Volkswagen Emporium in the UK, I'm not sure but they may be able to get hold of original spec rubbers including the standard ones without trim.

Seats and covers are from CB Performance. I made the board from a piece of 5/8 particle board and when I ordered the carpet from TMI I requested an extra pice which I cut to fit and had a local shop sew the binding on. The binding isn`t the same as the kit but its not too bad and this was supposed to be a budget deal. Only problem is TMi charged me $50.00 for the piece! and the grain of the carpet doesn`t go in the same direction and the other pieces. Next time I will go with Wolfsburg West and just pay the extra but its alright.
