I believe it was in the latest Rod and Custom in an article about an old hotrodder (Burke?).

Is that the same car in Nico's last post as pictured in Keith's new Cal Look book? Dave Patrick IIRC?

It looks pretty similar - later tail-lights, no exhaust cutouts in the valance, blacked out engine bay, and even still having the engine lid seal in place and painted. Maybe it's a different car, maybe a later version.

In the "lost and found file" you can catch the Muppet from DAS. One of the last event we saw it was EBI1 in 2007.
The car was one of the two first european NéoGasser (FlashBack from K.Seume) and the only of them who still look like the same. The car is a '55 model modified in 1997 if I remember well.
DAS Muppret was sold by the previous DAS owner Nico and is now in the hands of Stephane Speelman from DAS Club.('62 grey cleen beetle from DAS with F4BRM's)
He is now working hard on it and plan to be at the next European Bug-In in july for racing.
He told me last night; "Working on the Muppet is like restoring the back of Monalisa's famous painting with the frame on it and without hang off the paint from the wall !"
Four years I did'nt saw the car and I still believe it's a true piece of art and also a piece of history for the revival about Gassers we knew those days !

Hi Mike , it a shame Nico sold the car , but good to see it is still is DAS .

Is Nico still active in the club ? is he on the lounge ?
Before EBI 1 , he was very kind and let us stay at his house and use his shower and kitchen. I remember he was planning to build an under ground garage in his cellar .

Even he did'nt come anymore to the club or at the events, he is and still a great, great guy ! Smiley Life is making choices so dont balme him to make choices !
And we have a lot of marvelous souvenirs twogether Smiley

[ Attachment: You are not allowed to view attachments ]

this has been found, and looks like it is being restored, this looks like a full on race car! found on a thread on thesamba..... the seat is centred in the middle, towards the back of the bus, and the metal behind the vw logo is cut away to allow the driver (kamikaze) to see to the end of the strip when he is pulling a wheelie - WOW! Fabs, have you come across this in your archives?
