and the driver of IP II wasn't darrell vittone , because EMPI was sold to FDY/ LEE ELIMINATORS at that time and it was jim carlson who was the driver

Which is why it didn't say that Darrell Vittone was the driver.. it just says the car was made famous by him and then later driven by Jim Carlson. It's cool to put two different photos of the same time and place.  Smiley

I have it just say for information keith Grin Grin and thx for those awesome picture

In one of the shots above you see a very young looking Bear Bearilleaux with the long dark hair kneeling in the front row. Cannot miss that grin!  Jeff campaigned a ghia later that was a very competitive car too.  It won some NHRA wallys. Bear reside in Hawaii now.

Yes, and that race would have been during Modified Eliminator against Texeria's Corvette. At that point, Darrell had won class (I/Gas), and then moved on to eliminations. Look where Darrell's eyes are going through the lights. Another great Alhadeff shot.

I just found out that the IPII had yet another driver after Darrell drove it. Rick Johnson, who drove the Lee Eliminator bus (Wonder Lodge), also got behind the wheel at least once, before Filter Dynamics pulled the plug on the whole deal.
