We had a white Christmas in North Texas this year - whoohoo! The last one was over 80 years ago, back in 1926. Since it's a rare occasion, I thought you guys might like to see some pics. Also, if you've got snow in your area, please show/tell me about it.

This is the front of my house, taken in the early afternoon of Christmas Eve:

My daughter Chloe says the slide works really well with snow and ice on it!

My mother-in-law received her Christmas gift wrapped in a beautiful blue tarp fastened with duct tape (I didn't think the Santa paper and Scotch tape would quite hold up to the weather and ~30 minute drive in the "Taco")

By late on Christmas Eve, we had accumulations of ~3-4". It was pretty, but too dry for good snowballs. Unfortunately, much of it melted away by ~2:00pm on Christmas day.

Eric, I find it interesting that in an area that hasn't had snow for 80 years, that your kids have winter coats, gloves and hats !

It's been over 80 years since we had a white Christmas in North TX, but we typically get a little snow every Winter here. More often than not, our Winter precipitation is freezing rain/ice, which causes many traffic problems and business closures.

As far as the heavy clothes go, we can buy them for almost nothing at the end of the Winter season, and they look like new by the time the kids grow out of them because they don't get that much use... Grin

On a related note, the attached pic is a screenshot of what's displayed on the Bing.com home page today. It's a city that I've visited a couple of times, and looks to have a bit of snow. Can you guys name it?

BTW: The thing on the lower left corner in pic 2 is something we call "spark", directly translation will be "a kick". And the thing in the upper left corner is called a UFO..   Cheesy

Looks like some type of snow sled, which I'm guessing is foot or "kick" powered? (versus one that's rocket powered! Shocked)

Got more snow yesterday afternoon. Not as much this time, but it was wetter and good for snowballs and snowmen. Unfortunately, the precipitation turned to rain last night, and all the snow is gone is morning. RIP, Frosty... Cry

Here's another pic - this time, I'm dressed for the cooler temps (~35°F/2°C), and sporting my DKL hoodie.

Last night -
First drive in my 66 13w deluxe. It´s a rustfree/orig. paint Californian import, so I guess it´s the first time it has driven in snow/ice. Couldn´t resist taking it for a drive around the block (roads were NOT salted).
Great feeling driving it, after all that work getting it ready.  Smiley

Looks like they also got quite a bit of snow in Fargo, North Dakota. This isn't much of a surprise, but I'm guessing that the names of the people in the photo were a surprise to the reporter when the article was printed... Cheesy (HINT: Read them out loud to yourself, and think about Bart Simpson)

What is this snow thing you speak of? 70 def F here today. It did drop into the 40s last week which made laying upfiberglass repairs on the Manx fun. I had to get out my long sleeve shirts from storage.  Cheesy

More frozen white stuff... bummer. You don't want to hear the So Cal weather that we had today and what's predicted for tomorrow. I'm gonna surf in the morning, hopefully hit a skatepark, then come home and clean the '67 up for Sunday night at Nick's for the D.K.P. Cruise Night.

Car looks cool, Bates. Is that an old FourTuned (or one that looks close) single or dual quiet pack? If so, great time machine effect.

Berg 933S 1 5/8" with dual QPs I got from Ratto a few years ago. The new engine has a Berg 934HB 1 3/4" heater box exhaust and I'm gonna adapt the QPs to continue the look.
