Ascorts ROCK, Such a beautiful shape, glad someone is brave enough to be Draggin one!

Also I'll be shot for saying this but

Loving the Bay, I believe it has a Turbo'd Rotary engine in the back, any idea of what times it sets?

And if you see the owner or can point him at us, we'd love to have a member down under:

Prior to the most recent power upgrade, Aaron has run into the 6.80s i think.
The new found powe breaks loose the drag radials once the boost gets up.

Another view of the same run at 2mis50 into this vid.
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/ZAobFlSxxeo" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/v/ZAobFlSxxeo</a>

The amazing thing about Aarons Kombi is that the ony change he makes to drive it on the street
are a better muffler.
He uses same tyres, and same fuel,(98 pump).
And that means he drives it to work each day, and also trips of 500km plus so far.
Plus Aaron is an all round, nice guy, so despite it being a rotary engine, he is OK with me.

Aarons bus is amazing, I'm not one for conversions, but some of the videos of it burning out sound INSANE!

Thought about trying to buy that blue one when it was for sale a little while back, but, IMO, they still don't hold a light to a Ghia.

Originally they were offered with Okrassa engines, but haven't seen one yet with one.

yeah Aaron's a nut case, the only way to be driving that thing. Luckily the vw drag scene is picking up again and I may have to pull some of the old stuff out the garage and build me a drag motor. I wish we had more 1/4 mile tracks its not like we don't have the land to build them on. Undecided

Cogratulations Rohan!  Now you just need to hook back up the nitrous!  Do you notice the launch and shift?  Vanagon automatic trans!

At the 2009 event, Rohan had really gotten(?) comfortable in the car.
Not bad for a fellow with no drag racing experience before getting in that car.

He was using the nitrous to get off the line, but then it was just boost from that point on.

What were the fastest times and speeds you ran with the car dave?

The best that I ran was a 10.25 @ 133mph. This was with a different torque converter. I also got very out of shape on that pass and had to get out of the nitrous for a bit, then back on. I would launch on the motor and then grab the unit when the rpm came up. That was also with about 28lbs of boost. With the present converter the car would stall up to at least 4000-4500 rpm. Along with a smaller cam the car would leave a lot harder, even spinning the tires. Before that it wouldn't spin even with 15 lbs of tire pressure. With the present combo I ran a 6.76 @ 106 in the 1/8th, with only 23 lbs of boost. We had fewer problems with lower boost and using the "liquid intercooler". For bracket racing I would not use the nitrous unless the car got out of shape and I had to make up some ground.
