bought a 1600 longblock today and a pair of kadrons

fitted my butchered rx  Cheesy
sounds exactly like a stinger! probably because the only bit of baffling is in the tail pipes, and have had a 3 bolt flange welded to it

razzed it up the main road on my way home, then noticed a cop car approaching in my rear view mirror, as i got to the roundabout, so kept it in 4th, as he followed me all the way home  Embarrassed
he must of heard me right up the road!  Shocked Tongue

the 65 is sold, and is going to bournemouth tomorrow.

work has started on the 66!

having hookeys rear bumper mounts welded in
original rear body mounts repaired
original wings repaired
and a small repair to the bulkhead just above the master cylinder where it has peppered through.

and a repaint!  Grin

got a good 1500 gearbox going in! (and then i can sort the rear height properly!)
a nice stainless turbo muffler and header
and had my brm's blasted

don't worry, the cookie cutters are only on there to roll it about on!

the worst bits are the rear body mounts and bumper mounts

got a black 66 only interior for it too!
just need to find some door cards.

the dings and dents have been sorted

not the only person to think that?

a post gutter has been pulled out and straightened, 1/4 panel too, as it has had a bit of a knock

rear bumper mount welded in and rear body mount was all welded in by the time i left, hookeys ones didnt fit mine sadly, so had to use the usual repro bumper mounts

i still have the original 1966 body mounts if anyone wants to make a good copy of them? the passenger side one looks exactly the same as the usual repro style you can buy, but the drivers looks like a late one, for the z bar, with the pressing, but not cut out!

front end pulled out and straightened, don't worry, the filler looks worse than it is, just a light skim Cheesy

and look at the size of the amp under the bonnet, then you can understand how big the stereo was that was in it

the inner wing is finished off, nice and smooth! flush panel joins
just the heater channel end plate to do...
can't even tell it has ever been welded (well, the repairs are invisible), and the spotwelds have been remade too

....

more welding has been done, a small repair on the running board mounting strip, below the rear 1/4, heater channel is nice and rot free inside too!

and the heater channel end plate had just been layed over the top of the old one!!!
and whats better is that its only had 2 holes about a cm long near the outside edge, so those have been welded up!

no idea why someone badly tacked on one over the top!!

all the welding is now done , prepped for primer, which will be done later this week

inner wings, and front bulkhead area now stonechipped and flatted back

i passed my test on tuesday 1st try!, but now got no car to drive!  Cheesy

now pretty much finished, just rear brake shoes to fit , then it can go for an mot

have sorted the stance, now back up to stock height at the rear, and has a proper rake!  Cool but i will probably change my mind soon and lower it again  Embarrassed  Cheesy
threw on the t bars for now, till i get my bumpers

picking up a pair of banded steels at slough for the rear, just temporary wheels for now

have worked on it solidly for the last few weeks, changed rear hub oil seals, gearbox mounts, and stuff like that

was planning on taking it for an mot today, but the handbrake cable snapped last night, have been trying to find one all day today, managed to order one in
so will be finally taking it for its mot tomorrow!!!

i defiantly think a set of sprints will suit it!  Cool so will get a set next year

put the trim rings on, as my steels are pretty ratty looking!!

can't wait to fit the 1500 box and get the rest of the bits for my 1641!

oh and the bumper irons and wipers will be painted the correct silver soon Wink
