The time has come to install suspension on my '56 but im really not sure whats gonna be best..... car will be running an IDA'd 2276cc with Rancho Pro Street box so it should be a bit of a ripper. Ive read a few horror stories about people having problems under braking and on lift off of throttle due to sloppy suspension so i'd really appreciate any advice!

Many people have the rear suspension travel limited. Some say AVOS do it on their own but opinions are divided. Some use straps. It isnt a huge amout of work and stops the "end of the run" wiggle that comes from taking your foot off the gas. I am having mine done

I am having mine done are you going with the straps then? Just got to make a decision between Avo's and Koni's now. Haven't had a lot of feedback on this topic but from what i can gather, Koni's (and i'm assuming coilovers!) are a good choice. I was just curious whether there was any noticeable difference between the two? Thanks for your reply, it is appreciated

I am having a 19 mm bolt put through the rear suspension arm. Pete @ Funkenblitz is the guy that put me onto it. Straps may well do the same, I am not knowledgeable enough to comment really. I am also going wit Avos based on recommendation.

Nope , we are welding up the rebound stops , using a 19mm NUT , to gauge the correct amount of height required added to the lug that the spring-plate rests on , with the suspension unloaded .

Think thats what Si (aka Cider, aka 67screamer) was trying to explain to me the other night, and i must admit, it went straight over my head then too!!!!! He's coming up mine tonight, i'll get him to draw pictures this time!

Stock up front and AVO in the rears. 1.51 ft time on DOT tires so, YES, I like AVO.
