Hi guys, In a few weeks i'm going to convert to 48IDA's, and i'm in desperate need of some jetting advice for my combo: Engine 1776cc *1200cc D-case *69x90.5 mahle *Full flow *CB race crank 69mm C/W *Scat Unitech race rods ARP2000 *C/R: 9.1:1 *CB-044 - 40x35.5 - Dport *Engle W120 *STD 1.1:1 rockers (will be 1:1.25) *Solid rocker shaft *Dual valve springs *CB Chro-Mo pushrods *36IDF > 31mm vents (this made around 100hp) *1-5/8st vwspeedshop SS exhaust merged turbo *CSP breatherbox *CSP bell crank *CB straight cut gears *CB lightweight followers *lightend flywheel *STD clutch setup *CB equalizer pulley *GolfII electronic 009 ignition The powerhouses will be living on a set of Udo becker manifolds. I'd think the standard 37 vents are okay, but what about jetting? Many thanks and see you this season!

Hi, I had my 1776 jeted with 37 vents, 130-140 mains, air correction about 160, and 60-65 idle jetted with an Lambdameter. Start with a 140 main! Have you got the 3rd progression hole drilled? If not try it without the 3rd. I had a problem at transision at about 2500-30000 rpm that the engine ran way to fat at constant speed with the 3rd hole... you might be surprised with smaller exh... Air speed is your friend,Driveabilty vs hp loss may not be what you think ?? my 1700 w/ ida's (aronson/holmes 63) drove great without 1 5/8...bill

yep, and if i remember correctly Felix has smaller valves as well (39x32) which help as well. i have a 1 1/2 on my 1776 and it works great but i have 42DCNF's

My 1776 W110, 40*35,5 heads had 60 idle, 150 main, 200 air, F11, 37 venturis. Later 40 venturis and 160 main. Run 14,49 in a Super -72. Its all about the heads!

yep, and if i remember correctly Felix has smaller valves as well (39x32) which help as well. i have a 1 1/2 on my 1776 and it works great but i have 42DCNF's Yep a 1 1/2 header would maybe match the engine better but I would give the 1 5/8 a try. What exhaust are you running? I had "slightly" smaller valves at my 1776. Stock 35.5x32 15.1sec@typ-3 40x35.5 is a good valve choice for a 1776! Always wanted to have some heads with that size for my 1776. If you ever take the heads apart you should think about rising the compression a bit more. If you drive hard the STD clutch setup will slip after some time. A Kennedy stage 1 would match the concept way better. Olaf a club mate drives a similliar 1776 with a bit higher compression. I dont think you will gain anything with 1,25 rockers. The 044 will flow to about 125-130 hp and that will not increase much on higher lifts.

If you drive hard the STD clutch setup will slip after some time. A Kennedy stage 1 would match the concept way better. Didn't notice any of that with the baby weber (36s), and i've got a new flywheel/plate/clutch so that helps also i think. Higher compression would be possible, but i also want to drive it hard with relative crappy belgian/dutch gas SVwerker: nice heads indeed, nice HP for the €'s and a friend of mine has the same heads (ported by me) that made 132hp/192nm on a 2017.

Got the IDA's and the jetting is 60(on 120s) - 140 - 190 on F7's. What would the advice be? 55's on 150-200s F11? Thanks a million!

My choice would be 150 main and F11. 190 or 200 air will be good to start with. F7 run rich when accelerate in my engine. I have modified my idle jet holder to 100.

Loungers, a small question.. My engine is torn apart again, and i've got the descision to change the cam, it now has a W120 but that is too smooth for me.. I want to keep the 1.1:1's and have 9:1c/r @ 48IDA's with 37vents Change to a W130 or VZ25 or what do you recommend? adding up the c/r? Thanks!!

1776 w/IDAs ... ran an Engle 120 with 1.1 rockers.. High 13 ca at around 94 mph... with low comp and a c/r box on slicks..smooth cam, no suprises... when Jim Ratto and Big D conned me into a redo with more cam and compression (86b and 9.2) it turned into an entirely different animal.even with a way too big header (1.750 merge and magnaflow). car now ran 13.30s at 101mph... If you want more cam Go with an 86b and 1.4 rockers..A soggy bottom until about 2800, then it revs like a sportbike...68-7400 shift points... I listened and can't thank those two enough...

Dan, your motor rocked. I remember the launch with you perched on the pan in Big D's court. K8/86B is a killer cam for 1800-1900cc hot street. If you're going to go through all the hassle of doing a ratio rocker cam, may as well have it rip your head off, right?

sorry my answer i read this thread and ask my self how is it possible build a 1776 with a D Engine case.Thec oil channels ar to small to get enough pressure to drive high rpms.Please set me right when im going wrong with my thinking.

i don't know a whole lot about the mexican 1200 cases. but as far as I know they're AS41 just like the ones we use but then bored for a 1200cc. they're not inferior at all.
