Smallest engine combo with 1 3/4 Berg
«

As title mentions, what would be a good engine size to put a 1 3/4 Berg exhaust, got one sitting around and never used it before, could it work on a street 1776 with usual mods, heads, cam, 9:1.
thanks

Mines on a 2442 10.5:1. 1 3/4" is way to big for a mild 1776 IMO. It would work, but not help much...

you'd be best off to sell the 1 3/4" off or trade for a 1 1/2" or 1 5/8" header, i suppose

the 1-3/4 would "work" on a 1776, as far as it will move exhaust gases from cylinder to tailpipe.
Unfortunately, it will not be optimum header for that displacement, unless we're talking pulling out all the stops, meaning full race.
We did run a 1-3/4 on Sheep's 1914cc which was fairly healthy state of street tune (no where near race tune). The car ran well 4500+, but was sorely lacking in the low rpm torque. It was fed by 48IDA with 40mm vents, had K8 cam, and a set of Mary @ Pauter 40 x 35 heads. The car was a match for my 2276cc in some casual street racing.
I'd say a highly tuned 90x78 thru 94x78 could make best use of the 1-3/4.

Was gonna use Clay Smith 320, Erson 1.4, welded 42 x 37.5 wedge port, 45 dells, bump c/r, you know, usual combo
.
It will still be a pig down low. Ran awesome with Comp eliminators, GB316, 77.5 x 90.5, Haltech injection.
