Whilst restoring my gas burner wheels yesterday a hairline crack was noticed on the rim. I am getting it welded, but any advice of the magnesium content of the wheel, and pre-heating temperatures will be appreciated, thanks

You might give John Abbot a call at Java, he knows a thing or two about repairs to mag wheels.

You could also try Bob at Concept Racing (01989 763 777)

His ability with a tig welder are unreal, and he has just repaired a similar crack in my OG gasburner.  Smiley

Hi thejohn66,

Glad you got your wheel sorted.  Smiley

Picked my wheel up the other day, as well as got a sender base welded into a fuel tank. If anybody needs any evidence of bob welding ability, check out this welding porn! The man is a welding god!!  Grin
