Belgian 1300 '68, soon with real horsepower...

I bougt that car as I was 16, my first car ever. It was really looking good back then, and still was this summer. But i got this weird sound while i was driving, coming from the pan.
A second sheet of metal was welded to the pan's nose (is that correct english?) and it came half loose, so i cut the rest.
That's what I saw then:
The pan was dead, couldn't drive like that anymore. So i decided it was time, after 7 years, to do a full resto on my 68 1300.
I took it apart and got a few more surprises:
Etc etc...
The shell went to the sand blasting:

Meanwhile, at pat's shop(
http://www.pat.be
), a new pan was built.
Mostly original German steel, a few parts to weld (jack supports, pan nose bottom plate...), bigger fuel line, berg gearbox mount, all new shiney bits all around...

Nice, and the engine plans are?
And the engine, it's gonna be a 2110 cc, ultramag+ heads, aluminium case and all good stuff inside, 48 ida's, etc
I've got the complete list at the shop but i can't remember it. I'll take it with me next time...
We hope (quite reasonably) for 180hp...

I'm pretty sure that's the fake 67 that was featured in UltraVW last month!
Only it had us-spec fenders... But the custom colour and fuchs are identical.
The story is that that "67" used to be a 1970 1200 that was converted, apart from the wide trim that the owner wanted.
Note the 70 door and doorhandle.
After a little searching:
Voila, the same?

Hi Roland,
The car will look good in it's new colour... and this way I can finish my car in a color similar to what you had before
.
Is it gonna be finished for EBI?
BTW
Are you the blond guy from DAS that also owns the red mud-bay?

Welcome to the Lounge Roland!
Looks like your body needs a fair share of panels, but if it turns out half as nice as it was, it's all been worth it.
Hang in there!

Small update:
On the 68 I had repro 6 in the front, not very good looking, so i got myself (thanks K.) a pair of 5.5 to match the deep 6 from the back.
I'm sending them all to polishing, the 6 are already polished but not clean enough to my taste.
Also, a peek to the Ultramag + heads, pretty straightforward to the valves..

Small update on the chassis, the spingplates are in, with 29mm torsion bars.
The shopping list is getting longer, a 4.5 for the spare wheel. Bling bling...
Pat working on what will be my engine..
Anyone already used that kind of clutch disk? Hope it's gonna be a good compromise for street/runs use..
