I did that at finition métal in Ittre. Good job but they sanded the roof, and that's lame. You have to ask them no to do that.

And i'm not sure of the process, the best would be to call them...

Some news at last: gearbox arrived!

Rancho pro-drag with gusseted Rhino case, heavy duty side plates, quaife, etc etc.

Not too short because i have to drive the car to meetings, no way i'm becoming a trailor queen. I need to find the papers with the gears...

Bodywork was stopped because i needed doors to align the front panels, so now that i have them it will be moving soon.

A pic of the baby:

So because my 68 wouldn't be ready for this season, i had to find myself a ride for this summer... And it would be a Zenith blue late looker, of course!

Got this 1500 70 cab' thanks to Pat, quite scary actually. But i knew with some propoer care, it could be great. It's quite sound actually, and the engine only had 40 000km on it. Just a few bumps.. Wink

So it got new brakes, engine overhaul, etc etc, Dropped spindles and chromed 2 litres fuchs:

But still, the front was too high and wide, so Xavier narrowed the front beam from 5cm and added a sway-a-way kit:

Lots of little details are different from when i got it: seats without headrests, deluxe rubber on front bumper, etc etc. Now it only needs to be 3cm lower on the back and it'll be the perfect daily driver! It even has heating!
So i know for some of you it might be what you call a hoodride  Wink but still, i think i'm never gonna sell that bug anymore... So much fun.

And no, i'm not re-paintig or waxing or washing it. Ever.

It's an external glovebox. A pretty rare option...

finally after 8 months of nothing, i got my car in a new bodyshop!

it's going to Laurent Dejeaifve recently opened "Old dream car" shop.

You might know Laurent trough his lowligh Karmann-ghia, which is quite nice, and that's the understatement of the year.

Car at the new place, i think it's in good hands.  Smiley

I believe that will be faster and done better. Happy me.

Also, a peek at the seats:

Got proper read disc brakes for narrow axles, and I got my heads back from Steve's VW shop, now Pat can just throw them on the engine. But i can't show you those, it's Belgian secret power porting, and i'd have to kill you.

Yep, they could also fit in a baja bug, although you'd want the ones with headrest. I think these are proper cal-look!

When do you think your Bug will be finished? Our late model is still very much 'in the works' but we just completed stage one of the body work so 2008 is definitely possible. Anyway all the best.

 Cool

And I'm hoping my late model will be ready soon too Mat! Got a Golf Cab in for a wiring problem and a GTi needing an engine swap, then it's full steam ahead on the '70/'72. Should be in paint by the end of February I hope! Need to decide on a colour too - I can't find anything to match Klingaman blue! Roll Eyes

As for the body, laurent, in 2and a half day, did quite an amazing amount of work: see for yourself (and also i don't know the english words for these parts of the body...)
