Thanks a lot guys! I really love that car and i'm gonna put a huuuuge amount of hours driving it when it's done...
Make sure you check the height of the taillight holes on the new fenders most replacement's are higher then stock VW fenders

So Laurent has been doing a whole week of welding/grinding and is now making the final touches before preparation. He's rebuilt the custom dash to make it a lot cleaner and i like it!

Working on the details:
1: Laurent made a piece to close the grille in the front hood, since i'm not putting the air box back in the car
2: On the left, the shape of the part that's supposed to hold the carpet on the new heater channel. On the right, the piece laurent fabricated to match the factory look..
The filler step is done, car ready for primer today and interior paint tomorrow if everything goes as planned!

I'm guessing it didn't need much filler?
Great progress!!!

Thanks!
the roof needed some filler as it had been sand blasted, and some here and there, but not that much indeed

Well, short delay: the shell is ready for primer tonight. Laurent is taking a week off and then, next Monday, primer time!
Tomorrow I'm getting back home (from France to Belgium) so I'll be able to see my car in real life, it has changed so much maybe i won't recognise it
anyway, really excited about that, won't be able to sleep tonight!

It's starting to look really good Roland. Our 1300 project should be moving a bit more in the next few weeks but I think you have the lead right now. We still have a little more body work to do before it goes into paint and whilst I have all the serviceable parts boxed up and ready to go we haven't had any of it refinished / treated yet. (Nice looking car too bluestar).

Very nice car.
Looks similar to mine. Wich color is that? Savana?
Mine is chinchila grey.
I wonder why I have drop the rear... And it's very difficult to put it again at stock height without difference from left to right.

Mat, can't wait to see your moves
Guys, thanks, i really appreciate the cheering... And I love both those big bumpers!
here are a couple of pics Xavier sent me of the rebuild of the pan at Pat's. Work by Xav (the guy with the sepia 67) and Arnaud (the guy with the green 69 on weld racing wheels) quite a dream team, don't you think?
