Ive been driving around in my half finished car now for a while and I feel its time to treat the car to its final stage and get it done .

Gone are the Porsche wheels , going over to 205 pcd and a set of replica BRM's for the mo
Gone to are the Beard High backs . In is a Bernard special

( please excuse the bad phone photo ) Roll Eyes
Gone to is my trusty 2165 , this Motor that Martin (Boom Boom ) and me put together a few years ago has seen my well .
In go's My new 82mm crank and mystery Cam  Wink hope to see +200 bhp with this little package will post pics as Its being built , again a Martin and me special  Cool
Also out go's my old VDO and stock split gauges

In go's hopefully if all go's to plan a set of six Aviator VDO gauges with "chicken head switch's " , you would normally find these on an old electric guitar , best match I could get to split knobs  Roll Eyes
Ive got a new Split RHD carpet set in the pipeline to . Harvey  Wink Kiss
Gonna rig up my line lock to use as a staging brake , Clean up the paint in a few places too .
New rag and headliner too .
Plan is to get this all sorted before EBI4 next year so my ride will look every bit as good as those amazing lookers I've seen there for the last 3 shows

Watch this space  Wink

just time for a quick update .
I've bolted up my nice new CSP 205 pcd rear drums and the rear tyre look lime their going to sit in just fine .
Having stripped down my king & link spindles to ditch the lowered spindles I've found that Im going to have to remove the beam and re-position the sway-a-ways  Roll Eyes
Also looks like I'll need to narrow it a tad too to get the new 4.5 BRM's to sit right  Sad hey how , here we go again  Roll Eyes
Having a bit of a problem tracking down the switches I want for the dash pods , was going to use chicken head switches but these look crap  Undecided
So I'm trying to find some small 70's stye rocker jobies , I've found simple on off ones but me being me I want three pole ones for lights wipers and my oil cooling fan .
Also has anyone got an idea for a tidy way of wiring up a line lock switch ? I've lost the one that came with mine so I'm looking for a neat looking replacement  Wink

Has anyone tried to fit an anti roll bar to a 2"narrowed king and link front end ? want to look at improving handling a bit as the old gal move's about a bit at high speed  Shocked
Also got given an old split fuel cap today to weld up and fit a blow off to , just to keep those track officials happy .
will post some pics soon as Ive something interesting to show

Glenn,

I know what you mean, these switches just aren't what you are looking for.  A nice alternative are beaver tail switches. Common switches in sixties and seventies italian sportscars.  for example:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Ferrari-Maserati-Beaver-Tail-Light-Switch-Pair-OEM-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem255b2788b6QQitemZ160443107510QQptZVintageQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories

these are iron ones, but you also have models where the "beaver tail" is surrounded in black plastic, hope you understand me.  These are in my opinion even more sexy then the ones in the ebay link, but I'm at work and don't have much time to google.  Grin

If you are interested in them, try to buy them from an alfa, fiat, lancia lover...  these are the same switches but less expensive then the ferrari ones...  Wink

I really like your fat bisquit interior.  nice,

Dem

http://bringatrailer.com/2008/09/30/bat-exclusive-dusty-socal-64-alfa-romeo-sprint/

second picture, on the dash you see the plastic ones, these are the long shaped ones, you also have smaller models, that are even more beaver tail curved, check it:

http://www.google.be/imgres?imgurl=http://www.autodrome.fr/ferrari_308_gtb_vetroresina_interior.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.autodrome.fr/ferrari_308gtb_vetroresina_76.htm&usg=__hQKqVQOF-UxbYAEX793fX55vZJc=&h=960&w=1280&sz=277&hl=nl&start=4&tbnid=jnRkpCSi4VkuKM:&tbnh=113&tbnw=150&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dferrari%2B308%2Binterior%26um%3D1%26hl%3Dnl%26biw%3D1231%26bih%3D548%26tbs%3Disch:1&um=1&itbs=1

in the right corner, center console..  Cool

the last ones like in the ferrari 308 are my best choice.

Sent of the new crank , flywheel , pressure plate , and counter weight pulley for a bit of a spin today .
With luck will start to bolt it all back together next weekend  Smiley
Won a few VDO gauges on flea bay , got a new orange needle fuel and fahrenheit gauge's , not heard back on the aviators yet , so going to run these for the meen time .
Also got a pair of 3 pole Lucas switches on the way  Cool
hope to pic up the new wheels for the weekend and tear off the incorrect but very new rubber on them , need to look at the best way of distressing them a bit
( don't do shiny smooth black paint me  Roll Eyes ) any ideas ? not involving a shoot blast cabinet  Smiley
Kept my old michelin rubber so will wear it again , but I'm gonna shod a pair in 6" slicks to  Wink
May even break out the camara for a few pix  Roll Eyes

I have got to be the most fickle , indecisive guy I know  Roll Eyes
Gone now are the MWS wheels also on the going list are the front drum's " which I'm halfway through rebuilding " Roll Eyes
In are my new today wheels " ohh shiny" Roll Eyes

Also in are a pair of CSP 205 front disc's king and link stylie  Cool
Only problem is the rear offst is ridiculess on these wheels , So I'm going to have to narrow it a lot more  Sad
Tyres also may be a problem too . the firestone wide oval's are very cool and sticky but their only 60's  Sad thats a whole 1"1/2 smaler than I need  Roll Eyes

I used to indecisive but now Im not so sure  Grin

Hi Gary , thanks for the link  .
My wheels have a 3"1/4 backspacing , so there's not too much differance to your ones .
I'm looking around first to see if I can find a pair with a more easy to work with back spacing of around 4"1/4 to 4"1/2 .
But if I end up going down the cut and narrow some more route with my A arms I may just be interested in a spare pair for the slicks  Wink
