In case anyone missed it, yet another old guy has returned to his roots...

"After a 30 year absence, (about), from the Bug In's ....look for the return of DRA in 2011.  Featuring the legendary Split Window of Marc Buehler in its newly restored condition, and the not so legendary, (but at least it's green), Karmann Ghia of Ed Craig."

Way to go, Ed! Cool Cool Cool

I scammed that off the Buehler thread.  Come on Ed, let's see some pics and hear about your new car!

From the looks of your Ghia, you will probably want to recover that seat? But then, who can get back there anyway?

I think the one you are referring to is Ernie Barrons.

Glenn's correct... the green 'vert Ghia is Ernie's and in our club. There's been a hardtop Ghia that same color and wheels at the last few VW events for the last year and for sale. If Ed's car isn't that one, then there's a twin car just like it.

It's a coupe, not a convertible.  Thanks to Rev Bob for the assistance with finding a rear seat too!  My other options were a Hello Kitty Bean Bag, or two really short bar stools!  I think the original style rear seat is the better of the three options!   Grin

I bought the car from a old buddy of mine.  The paint and wheels are pretty much what I was looking for.  I have the interior out now and will change out everything except for the headliner.   The motor is a 69 x 94.  I'm going to leave the long block as is for now, but all else will change.

Buying back my Split Window just wasn't going to happen, so for me, this was a good choice.  Always liked Ghias, and the green really worked for me.  Should be a fun car.

That's the one! I had a feeling it was for sale and thought it could be the one. With the Jim Logudice/Mike Billing '67's mix up, plus buying the wrong daily driver on Monday, I'm not having a great week! Cheesy

I'll see if I can take a pic tonite.  They came with the car, so I know little more than that about them.  I guess they are a older Scat design from the way the brackets mounted.   As mentioned, I'm replacing the entire interior of the car, so no need for the seats.

I know this Ghia, it was at the JC Open House, Classic Weekend, it was parked next to me with For Sale signs on it. The owner, at the time was real cool. That Ghia is really nice. I do have pics, but out of respect, I'll let Ed do the honors, after all, it his Ghia now.  Grin
