Have you ever seen this before? Looks like an old skool racer. Looks like a turbo motor. I think I have seen it in Trends or HotVW...my memory is shot. Pretty cool to see though.

Pretty cool racer. Looks like Home Depot, San Carlos. Looks like the GPR car that was posted because of the shorter wheelbase and identical wheels.

That is where it was, Home Depot San Carlos,..I am there at least once a day. Looks lke the GPR car, but I don't think it is the same. Still in nice shape. The GPR car has a fuel filler on the front of the car, that Riverside Wheel and Chrome has a gas tank under the black cover. I think it may have been in Trends years ago.

regarding the "Riverside Wheel and Chrome" dragster, Lloyd Mosher said this on another site:
"Hi Guys! That was the first body out of the mold, sold to the Pizzo bros. That car has the porsche speedster body (not 356) there is a difference,
glassed to a manx tub. They put it together for a young lady. It ran a small1700 cc. eng a weber- turbo. And was a 10 sec. car. Have not seen Pinky for a long time. LGK."
I also think Lawerence is right that it is the old GPR car.

Re the pink car; the memory's a little foggy but the name Nicole Linkert (I could be wrong?) comes to mind. As someone said, there was a magazine article about it once upon a time.

Linkert's car is also full length wheelbase and a Type 4 carbed engine.

Anyone have a copy of the January 1986 issue of VW Trends with the GPR dragster article? Maybe post it?

IF all goes well,..the GPR/Riverside Wheel & Chrome Speedster will be at Bugorama this weekend. The car is running and the clutch and brakes have been bled. Anyone interested should go check it out, not in bad shape. I found an old time slip in the car from Famoso Drag Strip in 1987, the Fall or Spring Nationals. It ran in an 11.40 index. With some new tires and a recert, this car could be racing again....anyone interested?
