Turbo Town (Västerås Sweden) are planning a race weekend at Kjula dragway in Eskilstuna. We will have our own VW Test n tune class and our own camp at the track. We will race with old dragrace cars which are mostly American. The event is organised by Rod n Kustom, http://www.rodnkustom.se/

We will have more information come closer to June. If you are interested or have questions about the event PM Ragtop and I will answer your questions as best as possible.

Welcome fellow racers!

Yes. It is a concrete track and very fast! They have run 1.05 60s.

Here is a film from this season

http://www.youtube.com/v/ZatVI1oOP4E

I do believe a notchback is visible somewhere in the film Grin

Already heard news of this, and I'm looking forward to racing my car there. Might actually be my first 402 with new turbo engine :-)

The Turbo Town Shootout is planned for one weekend, but there are many races planned at Kjula by the organisers next year and I am pretty sure that we will race at more than one race, depending on how many VW that want to race we will have our own class at most events.

What time will you be coming by to pick me up, Kalle?? Grin

I got to see plenty of very cool cars from Turbo Town at SCC last year, and would love to see them at their home track. Those of you who are attending this event, please shoot & share some photos and video.

Hehe, well Kalle, I like the cars you know. Two splits like that just look awesome!
And it is actually worse, I bought a 'truck-sized turbo' myself Grin

Fellow loungers!

I spoke with the organisers of the event and they would like to pre-book us to make sure we get top position in the pits. So if you could PM or e-mail me if you are planning a trip I can let them know approx how many of our cars will be there.

This is not a binding commitment.

Hi,
I will do my best to join the race. The '65 is 99.9% ready and just waiting to go to a dyno, so I am optimistic. The first test drive will not take place soon - we have a lot of snow here Sad

So... what`s up guys and gals? The Turbo Town Shootout is next on my agenda and I have started to prepare for it. My car is recently re-mapped and it need only minor adjustments before it is good to go. This weekend I`m servicing my trailer (yeah yeah.... I`m getting older and want a comfortable drive to Sweden)

Who else is game?
What is the status in Sweden, Denmark and Finland?

I posted this list earlier:

From our garage:

- Me
- Torgeir
- Vegard Baboon
- Fredrik Fritte

From what I have heard:

- Jens K
- Skinne
- Stian Tekken

Let`s not forget the Slackers, the never say no to a race:

- Jee with the Stinger?

- Endre D with is go fast - go everywhere looker?
- Herbie Morten with his incredible, new car?
- Finn Erik with his JPM equipped looker?
- TomR with his 67?
- Mags with the new Big Bad?

It would be nice with a BIG, Norwegian delegation!

Hope to see you there.

Car is good to go and just booked the ferry tickets. Should I register to the race beforehand? Any recommendation for a hotel/motel (travelling with the family)?

As you know, I am on my way :-)
After consuming a couple of tanks of E85 I have a list of modifications needed, but they are in progress and will be done in due time.
Very much looking forward to it!

Hi all!

This weekend there is a race at Kjula, next week they will open up registration for our race. I will let you know as soon as it has opened. The price to race is 600 SEK per car/driver, extra mechanics are 200 SEK/Person, not sure what the admission fee is for visitors but last year it was 200 SEK for a weekend. It is possible to camp by the track. No showers though.

Saturday night we will have a bring you own BBQ and we will set up tables in my tent and the tents next to it.

Also we only printed 100 T-shirts so make sure you buy one when you get there, they are 200 SEK.

On another note I dynoed the notch last Sunday, 500 whp at 2 bars will make it move i think Grin

Let´s hope the weather gods are with us

There is supposedly a hostel not to far away and the city of Eskilstuna is just 10 km from the track. Not familiar with their hotels and but here is a site that might help.
