Geoff,
I'd love to find a 2.7 to put in my Bay Window Extended Cab project. I have always liked your bus. I followed your build and really enjoyed seeing all the mods you made with the install of the 911 trans, etc. Nice work!

Well done split screen panel Bus. Make those wheels silver and I'd drive it.

Bryan,
Is the front end narrowed? If so, how much? Also, how did you drop the front end?

It`s a 4" narrowed ball joint beam, late Bay window disc brakes, wide five adapters and 2.5" drop spindles. On the back it`s 3.25 inch drop plates only.

Bryan,
You have it setting very nice. I will keep in mind what you've done to achieve the look. Thanks for your input.

Well,
I'm slowly going to the end of my 76' bay window project. All weldings are done and with the summer coming I will have more time to work on it and hopefully get it painted this fall.
I would build a cal look oriented bay window. I don't want to make a copy of how they were done back in the day as most of the time they were more custom rather our "less is more" mojo.
My goal is to apply the basics cal look rules on it.
Single color paint job. No white roof,no chrome headlight bezels or white bumpers. (I really dig a burgundy paint)
Lowered but not slam and some rack.
I have a set of 4 late 6" Fuchs still in original finish. I don't want to polish and paint them in high gloss black to stay with the utility origin of the vehicle.
Basic interior, no camper furnitures. (I think I will plasti dip the cargo floor, no worries about scratches and no plywood flooring).
Voilà, basic but I like this plan.
Do you have any advices, thoughts or ideas to share with this project?
Thanks.

All great aspects. Only advice: no rack. There are enough VWs with racks to last till the end of time and beyond. It's so refreshing to see a Bus without one.

X2, Hoping to start working on my wife's 66' bus, making it a true Cal-Look. And NO narrowed beam, and NO rack, just a slight dump and stock rear. A mild 1776cc with IDA's, I hope.

I would say rake Fred. Sorry for my misspell. And no, no rack
But a proper Cal look, bus or whatever, need some rake to give it the right stance
