I Guess It's Official
Busses can absolutely count as Cal Looker's
Well in the eyes of the DAS anyway

I believe a Bus can be Cal-Lookers. I have a 66' standard bus, in storage, that I would like to restore to a Cal-Looker. Install an IRS, at stock height, Run a 69' beam with 71' disk spindles for disk brakes, adjusters on the beam and leave it
STOCK
width, lowered just little, and very subtle but nice interior, Alloys all the way, and of course, a very potent IDA motor.
But most of all, make it fun to drive.

The 69 beam is wider than a standard bus beam. And a bay beam on a split raises the front end by 2", so by the time you have lowered it you don't have a fun drive.
You are better off getting some new Brazillian bay king and link spindles that are already setup for discs and then dropping them.

I actualy already have the. 69' beam with the 71' disk. Yes its a little wider but not much. Just need it rebuilt and adjusters put in. Don't plan on dropping it much, and I don't want it narrowed. Going to run 5 1/2" Alloys all around, should be ok.

Now THAT ride height looks functional AND eye-pleasing. Good job with the stance on that one. Get the rear bumper back on to complete it.

It won't be okay, it will rub on the arches. And as you have to lower it 2" to get it to standard split height it any further lowering means the ride is pretty bad.
Try it though and you can find out for yourself

Wish I had my 71 DD panel with such a nice paint...
I already have the engine and the cool height ride but not the clean bodywork
