I put in a blistering quarter mile of 19.5 with my 1641 at 96 bugjam "pictured" I thought i was flying  Cheesy
Wheels were B blasted eagles and the interior was trimmed out in grey to match the bumpers .

Perfect stance on that truck. Bead blasted five spokes are my favorite finish for those. Nicely done!

Rick Mortensen

Thanks Rick , no wish I still had it , got sick in 98 / 99 and had to sell it  Cry
Their weren't many busses back then this side of the pond given the cal look treatment , my wife even enjoyed driving it around  Cheesy

Perfect stance on that truck. Bead blasted five spokes are my favorite finish for those. Nicely done!

Thanks Fred ,
The stance is in part due to the home brew bug IRS conversion .
I narrowed the hubs to get the wheels in just right and retained the bug shafts in the process  Cool
We all had split busses back then so I got cutting and turning front beams down to a fine art  Wink

Hi Glenn
I don't have my copy of the magazine or the photos I took for the feature either...part of the big clearout when we moved here!  Not sure whether Paul Cave would still have access to these if you were interested; you can contact him at Aircooled Classics Magazine (he is now in Australia).

Thanks

Here´s my 66 deluxe

It may not be perfect cal-look, but it is imported from Riverside California  Grin

Porche 944 vented discs and turbo calipers on all four wheels, sway bar, brake booster, IRS etc..
4,5"-165/60/15 up front, and 5,5"-185/70/15 at the rear.
Currently running a 1600SP with a set of 32PBIC mounted on old danish "TOBU" manifolds. Hope to have the 356 engine running for next season.

Runs 15.5 on the quarter too Grin (last ones a video of a recent tunnel run in France)

I was in my wifes Seat Leon FR and was struggling to keep up with you to get a look at the van. You drive it hard, I remember saying to myself 'that's cool'
