A crappy pic of my '71 Bay.  I am working on some new rear hubs that will narrow the rear so I can fit a decent size rear tire under there.

Man, that patina is GORGEOUS, and works really well with the wheels/stance. Lowered, but not stupid slammed is the way to be.

My car is what it is, maybe not Cal Look per the books, but it's more than most.

Thanks,
It is all original paint, just buffed a few times to make it shiny again.  The bus has the usual rocker/dogleg/windshield rust, but the floors are mostly solid.  It is our new cheap daily driver family truckster, and I am using it to prototype my newly designed spindles and hybrid beam combo.  Working good so far!

Sounds like a good cruiser/prototype dummy! Got any more pics of that thing?

My then 8 year old son spotted it down a side street in tiny town Wyoming.  He and my dad left a note on the old guys door, and the guy called me back, and we made a deal.  It had a small engine fire, and the guy parked it for 12 years till I bought it.  Its got some dents and rust, but we drive the crap out of it, and I dont have to worry about the parking lot at the soccer field.

Here are a couple pics of the new spindles I built.  These were just before I finished up the caliper brackets.  The new spindles are 3.5" lowered, about 1/2" narrowed, corrected Ackerman angle, use new modern hub assemblies, giant calipers, and 10.5" vented rotors.  All of the parts are super easy to get at any parts store in the country.  They are built to work with a new bolt-in hybrid beam I built.  The beam has the bottom tube moved up 1.5" so it has the same ground clearance as a split beam.  If you have ever driven a lowered Bay, you know how low the beam is, and how much 1.5" will help.  The spindles and beams will be in production soon, and I already have a Willwood caliper option, and a 12" rotors shouldn't be to far away.

Thanks for the interest, Brian

Doubt it comes under the cal look title but it is from California

Obviously it’s not finished yet, 1970 San Francisco import westfalia, 2110cc build by Hector Howe, built 091 transmission, dropped & narrowed and Porsche 944 turbo brakes.

2110, Engle FK10, CB 42x37.5 ultra mags, Mallory ignition, 48 IDA’s on skat trac’s and an 1 3/4” exhaust

Hi Fabian,

Why not, but not a lot to see actually. It is a bare painted shell with wheels resting on wood blocks  Cheesy
Getting the wheels back was a good motivation shot to get back working on it  Smiley
