I can remember nobody ever having any luck with the 92's. My Brother and several of his friends went the 92 route, all with the same result. Lots of cracks, and lots of cars smoking like a freight train. Once they went back to 90's they enjoyed the benefit of more power that lasted longer than a month, and lot's of money won at the street races, over the folks that were running their 92's. The rule of thumb at the street races was, always, to find out if they were running 92's. If they were, you raced them. Sometimes you could get there early, and watch people pull in. The smoking cars were the ones running them.

That set really looks nice.
I'd really like to get feedback from someone who is running these currently. Preferably someone who has had them in a motor for 30 years. Of course, according to what everyone is saying about these, NPR 92's and 30 years in the same sentence may be an oxymoron.

Again, those are for a 40hp/1200cc application with the smaller wrist pin...

I "heart" the lounge...
..many years ago (91?)..we decided to try and track down some of the ol rally-cross and autocross vw racers from the ol days...I'll save the BRM clock story for another day but, we went and visited the Harold brothers and I managed to buy a few "old" bits..DDS dry sump pump...48IDA manifolds ..some other 40 manifolds ( not marked with any name ) a couple of old distributors (mallery i think)and a box with NPR 92 B's...they have been laying in my cupboard for many a year but, as we have just moved into new - bigger - better Planet Paintbox premises I stumbled across them again - and has this thread ever helped ..Ian Clark looked into them when I got them and found out that Deano sold them but, until tonight I had never noticed that Deano was cast into the piston
...might ber a good excuse to build a period motor for a future project then...thanks guy's - simon

I guess that's possible, or drill out the piston for the larger 1600 size. But you still may have an issue with pin height.
