I'm going to drop the turd in the punch bowl. That car would be seriously forgettable if restored--every one of us would write it off as a goofy 'retro' idea that some kid had recently. But that wear proves that car's authenticity and sort of makes it interesting. That's really the only thing this car has going for it.
I did enough time working in a detail shop to know that paint would look halfway good if polished carefully. Sure it's got issues on the roof but that car will never rust through. Raise the damaged sheet metal and tear it up with another turbo engine.
Seriously, you could build another car with the savings and have TWO finished cars. And people would actually look twice at this one. At least it would have its history going for it.
