Thought I would post some progress pics of my 2 year old project here....almost ready to paint, a few weeks.  Indigo blue is the color as of now, but if someone has a better idea I can be swayed..... Cheesy

Dave, Aga would be badass......as would some other Porsche blues.....hmmmmmm

I am kinda trying to keep this one "VW specific" with all the parts and options and stuff.....meaning, Porsche stuff goes on my 68 911 and VW stuff goes on my '64 Bug......I already have a 911 so maybe no need to "Porscheify" my VW.....

I really don't think I will reach a final decision until I actually buy the paint......which most likely will be this weekend.   Shocked Shocked

Indigo is a good color, not seen all that often. Isn't Tiger's car Indigo?

What's the overall style of the car going to be?

Yes, Tiger's is probably the most well known Indigo Blue car.....I also saw an indigo blue stocker for sale in my neck of the woods some years ago and remember being struck by the paint.......it will be single stage paint so it won't be overly glossy like bc/cc........

My car will be stock except for

1.  4.5" silver slotted Brazil wheels with 145 and 165 tires
2.  Adjustable beam in front, stock height rear, raked
3.  No bumpers or tbars at all
4.  Copper Hurst shifter, otherwise stock interior
5.  For now, 1600 DP with DDS DCN carb kit and linkage, 019 disty, and either Santana or DDS power pulley.  Also dual QP's and extractor.  I have an NOS DDS full flow kit but don't think I will install that right off the bat.

This car will have full heating and drivability retained.  So it's kind of like an early mid sixties looker with some late 60s early 70s stuff thrown in the mix.

Sounds like a cool car in the making, Mike. It won't be a high hp beast, but who cares? It will have style and best of all, it could be driven anywhere. Keep us updated!

Lawrence, yes.....it'll be a cool retro type driver....trying to use old parts mainly.....gives it a bit more mojo

For the future, I am thinking 4 inch bore.......all in due time.  I just want to get the car on the road, restoring an entire car is a shitload of work.  Changing an engine is nothing in the great scheme of things.
