Car is booked in for the cage to be tagged in the new year the charge cooler has now been modded for ice to go straight in Smiley so that should keep the temps down

also as ive added the dash2 ive found that race technology do an in car camera syetem that put the data from the ECU on the video so you can see were your mistakes are and what the cars doing after a run

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/O39VW0D6SxA" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/v/O39VW0D6SxA</a>

its mostly for circuit cars but i think it will be good for drag use as you have such a sort amount of time to see whats going on

Some fantastic fabrication going on there! It just seems to get better and better! Quick question: your chargecooler looks like it is ice fed from the top and doesn't run a circulation pump. If so, are you not worried about boundary layer heat formation? Do you have some cunning plans to avoid this scenario that I haven't yet spotted? Looking so trick mate, I love it already  Cool

Looks cool, but not sure those shafts look like they can handle 500 bhp. What size are the four bolts that connect to your adapters? Hopefully they are at least M10? Not trying to diss your project as I think it's ace, but you don't want to snap a drive shaft at speed! The wall would beckon!  Shocked

I get what your saying I did think of this but I'm sure they, jgfye will be ok, my cousin races comp safari land rovers with range rover props. I have used the standard bolt holes that are 8mm so it's m8 with 4 high tensile m8s, you've put doubt in my mind know lol I can soon make m10

There is absolutely no way 400 - 500 hp and slicks is going to transmit thru 4x M8 bolts. I reckon the first time you 'hook up' properly you will snap those bolts like twigs. I doubt 4x M10 would survive for too long either. 930 Cvs run 6x M10 and are considered to be safe for 500+ ponies. I really don't want to cast doubt, but from an engineering perspective you have a weak link with potential to ruin an amazing car. Go for 'belts'n'braces' amigo - you don't want a weak link issue messing with your psyche!

I did have some shafts made 930 cvs one end and bus the other but I was worried about the bus CVs there's enough room on the RR drive shafts for me to make m10 and also 2  10mm dowls , what CVs are others running?

Most big turbo cars favour 930 Cvs on both ends. You can buy 930 stub axles that fit straight on to TyPe one a-arms. They are cro-mo and very reasonably priced. Drive shafts can be bought in most lengths with 930 splines on either end. The dune buggy guys run them in the US all the time. Do an Internet search and you will find two or three suppliers stateside that will list everything you need. Can't remember exactly where mine came from as it has been a while. If you get stuck, I am pretty sure I have a spare pair of axles kicking around the workshop.

It might be worth trying your RR approach, but I would seriously look into the engineering aspect as there is a rediculous amount of force going thru those bolts. Plenty of type one six M8 bolt setups shear with only moderate hp, so it's a foregone conclusion that your setup will fail unless you radically beef up the bolted side of things. M10 and two M10 dowels may well work, but then a 930 Cv is going to be stronger in the long run. Hope this info helps dude. Matt

thanks for the reply matt i found the stubb axles on the samba at first i was using 944 alloy arms so had to stick with the smaller cv, i didnt think you could get the 930 stub axles but i think that may be the way forward if the stubs are any good

woo hoo cage is tagged to 8.5

had to add a bar before Geoff came

as we hadnt boxed into the chassis on the rear due to the bulges in the floor for the charge cooler coolers

couldnt wait any longer had to just put a rim on to see what it will look like thats the 7" rim

with the wing on i dont think the 8" will be an issue Smiley
