hi there are tubes welded to the gearbox mount and you use four pins to secure I hope that makes sense this afternoon i set to it again and cut off the suspension mounts i needed to move just a few gussets to fit and weld in place onec ive put the car back on the floor cheers andy

Andy, I could be wrong here as not 100% sure from the pictures but, did you narrow it inches to then put a 5inch wheel spacer to take it to exactly where you started from? I am puzzled about what you are trying to achieve here? what did I miss? cheers richie

Hi Richie the rear is narrowed by 2" so i can fit the coilovers in I cant go more due to the way the cage is and also so i can fit the drive shafts in they arnt going to be very long as it is which isnt the best. I've use the 65mm spacers for mocking up I'm not planing on using them, I've got to build the rear wheels up to get the offset correct Ive fitted wider wings as well, the reason I made the arms is so I can tweak ride height etc without camber change hope that makes sense
Cheers andy

Andy well done for keeping at it and getting it done Must be a good feeling to have done it yourself & for it to work Does it change the camber much through the range of movement? and will you keep the limit straps? and what spring rate will you start with? with the shock angled over like that it will need to be quite hard cheers richie

Hi Im happy with what ive done i would change a few things if i did it again, The camber stays the same no change, as for the limit straps that depends on if I can decide if it's a good idea or not lol. The springs are 500lb the shock is in place to follow the radius of the arm so I think it maybe ok but I'm a sparky not an engineer so I'm sure I will find out Thanks for the comments Cheers andy

Hi
i would change a few things if i did it again
Cheers andy
No dont even think about it Thats really good that theres no camber change,I dont know about the shock angle for sure,it seems that for say 3 inches of suspension travel when the shock is leaned over, you dont get the same movement at the shock so the effective spring rate is reduced,if it is straight up then you get a true relation of movement to spring rate. There is not enough info available to say which route is the best to take,it all can work with the right setting up

Nice to meet you at the weekend Andy. Keep up the good work. I think you will find that 500 lb springs will be way too soft given the orientation and angle of your coilovers. Mine are in a very similar place and are slightly canted also. I started out with 550s and worked my up to 850s. I think I might even need heavier... Take it easy

Take it easy cool thanks for the heads up i will look at getting some heavier ones seamed to take an age today to mod the rear valance but all done swaged the dzus fasteners in bonnet pin mounts and andys tip of the day for welding up big holes in sheet steel lol  put some copper sheet behind and weld to that takes away the heat from the panel and steel doesnt stick to it then just grind flat just like new cheers andy

Thats is beautiful! Congratulations!
I had a 4 speed 915 vertigate... Nope I did not build it but bought it from Claes Ebbenäs (RIP) who built it in 1980. It then had a billet spool, billet side cover (with bronze side flex support) and best of all, liberty pro gears gears. It was never raced by me, prior to selling it again.
I wonder were it is? Typically only a drag race box and shouls still be alive somwhere.
