got a fair bit done today manged to get the air ride to work how i wanted http://youtu.be/_ZeqeZ67fA0first trailer goes from lowest point to ride height then i step on, ride compensates for extra weight, i get off and air ride lowers back to set ride height the relays i need to tidy this up a abit valve block this would be easy to get to work on a bug or a bus compressor its very small its CFM is low but will do for this ok and every work shop needs a vise fingesr crossed i will get time to paint the chassis this weekend then i can puty the top on monday cheers andy

I'm not sure they know we're I live lol, I'm not sure what's going inside yet as there will only just be room for the car. It will have a genny and compressor the front part will be for tools etc. I've got a 4.5m wind out awning with sides for the car to go under Cheers andy

Are Carillo still considered as good as they get ? I currrently have CB race rods - JMR suggestion at the time as he rated them but maybe a s a budget choice ? Cheers Shane.

cheers guys thanks so back on with the car moved the rear a arms over by 70mm each side as the axles were going to be very short andy i need to get rid of the spacers also thought of this idea not sure if its a good one or not, the way i see it on launch the torsion tube takes a fair bit of load to ive but this 20mm CDS to transfer some of that load what does anybody else think am i barking up the wrong tree? next on to some more electronics ive found these from as jaguar X350 they are suspension height sensors and put out a 0-5v so i can put them into the data logger to measure what the suspension does cheers andy

nope, its needed,it will flex,I have mine tied up to the roll cage, where the harness bar and door bars meet the main hoop so they all provide the rigidity needed I dont know who big tube you are using on all your suspension links but start thinking alongs the lines of what power you are going to put through it,anything not strong enough will flex and cause all sorts of strange handling issues, and also you need to think of how much tyre you have to put under there now to get that power down,I dont want to encourage you to change anything but you proberly need to re think some of it to make sure its good enough That engine is a serious pice of kit cheers richie

The main tube on the suspension is 1 1/2 thick wall CDS the rose joints are M22. The tie rods to the a arms are 20mm thick wall CDS. The cage is CroMo tied to the chassis spine, shock towers and forks in four places. All suspension mounts are from 8mm now you know I'm not afraid of change so what else should I add I don't want to break it lol
Cheers andy

That all sounds nice and strong What "I" would change The length of the trailing arms, the idea is great but they are short,Mike lawless's car works with it but he has a limited amount of hp/torque,I would cut off the torsion housing and stretch the arms to the bottom of the main hoop and make a mounting point from there, basically backhalf the car,it can be done with a short arm[springplates like the Skinne car or Russ fellows, even my old cabrio] but you are limited by it then. Note: Actually I wouldnt,I would run it as a springplate car,but i am stupid and like the element of suprise[will it go down the track or will it crash] You need to think "race car" not "modified road car" with that engine and make room for a 10"wide slick cheers richie
