how can they move from side to side?

use the correct joint for the job, I admire your guts for giving it a go, but try not to reinvent the wheel especially when it comes to such important parts of the suspension.

Take a look at multi link rose jointed suspensions to see how its done. this kind of stuff just cant be thrown together, i haven't seen any evidence of a jig or fixture to get the the geo correct.

this stuff is important. if you've never done it before, get the experts to do it!. this is yours and our lives were talking about, as we'll be in the other lane.

Hi Martin

I'm not trying to reinvent anything just trying to see an idea through, I did have the thing in my head  about a rose joint not working and did have a bit of tunnel vision on that, and thanks to your and the others posts I have see we're I was getting confused.

So a few small changes and for the record I used the porsche sub frame as jig and its not being thrown together  I have spent nearly 4 solid weeks getting to this point. And yes I've never done this before but i wouldn't  worry about racing me you be in front anyway Smiley

Hi Andy. If you use rose/heim joints it will work fine as both pivot points aren't on the same plane. Almost all race car setups use rose joints with great success.

and ive got a bit more room Smiley

next thing is ride height im happy looks wise with this, but it may have to change a we move along

next part is wheelie bar height im not sure whats the norm but theres about and inch at its middle point

so what is the norm? i guess how long is a peice of string

As the cars out of the workshop having the CroMo tubes from the top of the hoop to the suspension mounts this weekend I thought I would put my new toy together

Converted it to  single phase

And it works well I can only use small cutters upto about 12mm as its a collet machine but that's fine for what I want

So I'm going to make the HX52 flange next week with it

Cheers andy

Honestly I would prefer it if you tried to tuck it all into the stock sheet metal ? would look really stealth then..but if the wing is required then why not..

have you thought about running sheet metal from the front of the sunroof to the bottom of the rear window via the cabin.  Would this improve downforce?

How did you find the fit of the Webasto roof? (Hard to fit, leaks etc). It's the only retro fit roof I like so looking to get one sometime soon.
