Hello fellow racers!

Get your calenders ready! This year there will be 2 events at Kjula racetrack.

9 - 10 of June, this might be a 3 day event.
1 - 2 of September

There will be Vintage dragracing and also Top Doorslammer so the track will be in good order.

Remember that if your car is faster than 9.99 you will need to have HANS protection this year.

More information will follow.

Johan

johan,

I am hoping to make at least one this year Grin

The hans device thing may cause some problems though as this isnt a european wide rule, just Sweden i believe?

Here is an extract from the 2012 NHRA rules, can you tell me if this is the same for Sweden?

9.99 and faster, any vehicle, supercharged or turbocharged
with alcohol:
Suit meeting SFI Spec 3.2A/15, gloves and boots
meeting SFI Spec 3.3/5 mandatory.

This part specifically?

If SFI Spec 3.3 neck collar is required and driver opts to use head
and neck restraint system instead, then SFI Spec 3.3 head sock or

SFI Spec 3.3 skirted helmet mandatory

As we have to use a neck collar normally and cant with a Hans device do we need the special 3.3 SFI skirted helmet to go with it? or maybe just the  sfi3.3 head sock?

cheers richie

Thanks Johan,

Decisions decisions... If the national street car championships here in Norway/Gardermoen is a 1/8 mile race I will come to Kjula and Turbo Town Shootout.

With regards to H.A.N.S, I talked to the Swedish Simpson dealer at Tierp and he recommended the Rage H.A.N.S due to superior front/back AND sideway support of the neck. http://www.sstmotorsports.com/Head_and_Neck_Restraints_s/1.htm

They just made a change regarding the HANS rules here in Sweden. It is a 8.50 rule now. So most of us will be safe I guess.

The season is getting closer and closer... I still have some work to do on the engine.

Kjula have done some changes during the winter, unforturnately the information on their homepage is in Swedish

http://www.kjuladragway.com/

I´ll do a short translation on the important issues, they want you to setup an account at www.dragracing.eu where all races will be announced and the whole applications procedure will be therefor each race it will cost an extra 100 SEK or approx 10 euros + race fee and electricity. I saw Gardermoen there as well. If you need electricity you will need to have a RCD (curcuit breaker) and all the cables must be for outdoor use.

Will be awesomes racing, Top Doorslammers, Vintage Drags, Bikes and of course VWs

Stian showed us that the track was very good this weekend. He ran a 1.20 60 and a 5.59 200 with a slipping clutch ending with a 9.08. So get your cars ready and come and join us.  Show of hands who will come  Grin

I spoke with the Kjula organisation today. There will be lots of cars and racing, therefore we will not be able to have a class of our own but they want us to run in 4 to 6. If you are eliminated you will continue to run in test and tune.  We will have our own spor in the pits. They believe it might be over 200 cars in total.

Will you be there on Thursday? My plan, if my engine survives the dyno session tomorrow, is/was to drive on Friday morning from Oslo. Will have to reconsider if the weather forecast is really good and I`m able to race on Friday.

Kalle,

Think that race are run under Speedgroup.Enter this website and register your own account, just follow the step by step instructions.
Then you can enter your car at the Turbotown Shootout event, also events later in the season if you like to.

Hello!

It was a great weekend performance wise, Tekken ran 8.70 and Skinne car with Jens Petter at the wheel ran a 8.60!! Also Niklas Haglunds new Ghia which was finished at 6.30 on Friday morning ran a 10.87 the first run and ended up running a 10.19 with a 1.35 60. Not bad for a first race!

The Herbie car with Andreas Åberg ran a 10.39.

I think Jee was smiling all the way home beating Stian in the last run.

Rain was our nemesis this weekend resulting in not that many runs.

Nice to meet people from different countries

My car only made it through the bleach box and a 60 then a cylinder cracked.
