I remember when this car was for sale on oldbug.com. I love it, probably because it reminds me of my own car so much.

The white car was in the Feb 2000 issue of VolksWorld. There is some info in the article on his maroon, not brown, car. Dechromed, Bradford black leather & red velvet interior (!?!) 74x92 w 12.0:1 comp & IDAs. Best time of 12.37. It was featured in the '76 HVW's Cal-look issue if you have that one.

flat headlight glass

Actually it was flat plexi. There is a small grainy engine pic in the Volksworld article. Looks like it is running a mag and no cooling tin.

ah! i just had to bring this topic back. i really have missed seeing the pictures of this car. i flipped through my Ultra vw magazine yesterday and there it was om 'Cornpanzer's screensaver as well. that car has been haunting my mind for a while now. and it is a 66. a year that i really like for some reason. i know of a 66 sunroof that needs some attention (read: full resto), but it is not for sale.  Sad the guy had it as his first car and wont part with it. he painted it red (an ugly job) and it is rusting away somewhere in his garage i guess... it had an accident while being parked outside his shop (hit and run) and he didn't know what to do with it. selling was not an option at the time as he would have gotten not enough money. we never really talked about it more as he didn't want to. i didn't have a chance to feel how deep the water was... too bad.
did i mention that one had a sunroof? yes it did.

anyway if i could i would make something along the lines of this fine car out of it. but in green (somewhat like monkiboy is up to i guess...) but i hope he can make the car i dream of  Grin, that would be great to look at too.  Grin

anyway back to the topic (kinda), please share some more stories and pics if you can spare the time.
