i drive my car everywhere for a month covering thousands of km and than it breaks down or gets into an accident and don't drive it the rest of the year.

is that also good???

no, i hope i can be able to drive my square around town as much as possible. not to brussels every week for work, because that won't be any fun. but tomorrow i will though, as they announce bad weather for friday (drive your car to work day, or something like that)

oh and don't forget!!! tomorrow is go skateboardingday as well. so dust of your decks and have fun!

Not daily, but several times a week.

My 57 "pre cal" oval is driven on a daily basis all summer long.
I used to drive bugs all year long, but the norwegian winters are not kind to old cars.. A pitty, because bugs are real fun to drive in snow!

NICE avitar!!  I'm pretty sure I know the "old fart" (pity he's not on here to defend himself!) that used to own that car as well as the gal.  Back in the day, that car was driven EVERYWHERE, same as mine.  So Cal nowdays is a scary place to be in a bug especially if your daily commute is 80 miles round trip and your wife is in the passenger seat next to you  Roll Eyes

Thanks.. It's just my absolute all time favorite photo.. There is something about that awesome pre cal car from that angle with miss Martin posing in front of it.. Suppose Fleming took it himself, little did he know that people on the other side of the world would use it this way some forty years later..

I drive air cooled everyday. In fact, except for a short time with a 66 Nova Wagon, thats all I have driven for the past 23 years.

Since I blew a head gasket on my Accord last September, my 67 bug is my only car. Why make a car payment when I can put the money into my bug. My commute is only 4 miles round trip with occasional 70-80 miles trips on the weekend. It gets driven rain, sleet or snow. They don't salt the roads here in Oregon so I'm safe in the winter. I'm only running a temporary sweep the floor 1641 with ratio rockers with dual Solexs until my 78 x 94 motor is done this fall.

« Reply #10 on: June 21, 2007, 02:43:55 am »

I want to.  There's a decent-looking 68 for sale not far from me for a seemingly reasonable price.  Sadly, there's a little too much going on at my house right now to put a little effort into a Bug for daily use.

I'd try my best to drive it all winter, but they salt here.  I'd have to devise a plan to keep it real clean underneath.

Every chance I get, in nice weather. Today it was reining in the morning so I took the waterpumper. Now it's nice again and I'd like to have my bug to drive back from work.

The GTV gets driven everywhere, except home. I live on a nasty dirt road and Id rather not punish it, so I keep it at work and drive it around town.
