Jim, that shot was taken off of 280 on the edgewood rd exit heading west. The t intersection in the distance is Crystal Springs road. Thanks for the compliment. Yeah, the car still looks the same. I might add some fake aluminum drum covers or some nipple caps. Maybe some euro bumpers. I am pleased with the look for now. ok...ok... I spent most of my hot lapping south of there, on 35 between 92 and 84, then farther south on 9, down by Boulder Creek. I used to call it WRX-Avenue... off topic, just for a second, but you ever go run Highway 25 south of Hollister? bit of a drive, but very worth it.

I take my beetle out to 35 and all the other roads up in the west hills there. Real fun! I did a google map search and I see hwy 25. Looks cool. I frequent that area but in my truck loaded with dirtbikes bound for hollister hills.

take a weekend while the weather is still cool... get up early and go try it out, run 25 down to SR198 which you can take back to US 101 or I-5... but you'll be a good couple of hours from home. And fair warning, if you go after late spring, it gets frying hot out there. Right now thru March is the killer time to go. see ya

Fabian, thank you very much for posting the report.
I really like the car, but the only changes I'd make:
Adjust rear height so the top of the rear wheels are visible like the fronts Take off the American headlight assemblies and install the European 911 lenses Remove the tail light lenses and swap for the lower profile amber topped ones Raise the front bumper height... I agree that it appears too low and would look more in keeping with the theme I'd have A-1 Muffler create a fully custom exhaust that would blend the looks of VW & Porsche
Other than that... it's a fresh look at two great cars, like Zach posted.

I like that car. But whether it's liked or disliked, it's well put together. Can't deny that. At least from the pictures depict. I'd really like to see it in person.

From what I recall the company / shop that did it are a (general) racing prep specialist and from what I remember of the pictures of it they did a pretty comprehensive job of the build so I think it is probably as good as the pictures suggest. ... I'd like to have a PROPER look at it too where is it based ... Japan I think, unless it's moved.

HAHA!! Fabian... that's AWESOME! Now just adjust that wheel in the rear so it's not "slammed" (barf!) and she's complete. Great werke, Agent Speedwell.

Brian, that pic's a tough act to follow ! Rummaging around, I ran across a couple of shots of the old No Doz sand dragster. Years ago, when I was into riding bicycles, there was a big guy in the group who I did a lot of riding behind (nice draft ). One day we're riding along and he's telling me about his girlfriend's dad.... how he's into racing cars.... dragster.... VW powered... turns out Keith Longerot's her dad!
