Awesome find! Thanks for the link too! There is some serious dedication in the scale modelling scene...

I spotted this picture on Facesuck earlier today with some reference to "The Professor" being the owner/driver, and I was wondering if anyone here knew anything more about the car and/or this picture. Supposedly taken in Autumn of '77.
If nothing else though, it's an excuse to post what might be the coolest street racing picture I've ever seen.

I believe that's the well known Swedish street racer, powered by a hot Corvair motor, which was the scourge of the very heavy Stockholm street racing scene back in the 1970s.

Well now I feel stupid, I immediately assumed this was taken somewhere outside L.A. Thanks for the info, Keith!

My '67, sitting outside my friend's shop in the last bit of sunshine for the day, after two long days finally getting a properly built transmission installed.
A few minutes after taking this shot, I had a much better understanding of what it means for a car to be a handful... it's surprising what a shorter final drive ratio can do for a car's responsiveness.

Just some pictures of my '67 and Sam K.'s white '63 at the Denver Bug-In this past Sunday, both in the pits and on the track.

While the sound was certainly entertaining, I doubt running the stinger helped my pretty dismal performance all day. I'd say the tradeoff was worth it though, as this was the first time my car's been driven anywhere other than to another garage since last October and I wanted to make some noise in celebration.

We actually managed to get lined up for a time trial pass, and our good friend Jon and my dad both managed to get some pictures of us launching.

Given that they've both been proven to be 14 second cars, we both ran in the big kid class, looking nicely out of place with all the high-dollar turbo racecars and their fancy suspensions/roll cages/racing seats.

Given the heat, the near-constant headwind, the stinger, and the fact that I hadn't raced since last September, I'm pretty happy with my performance, and nothing broke, until I lost in the second round after a bye in the 1st. Sam did great, making it to the semifinals and without an issue all day long! Overall, it was a good Bug In for us and we were smart this year and brought up a cooler full of beer for after racing!

It was a gorgeous day! Definitely a little too hot for my liking, but gorgeous nonetheless.

That was a fun day! I was thrashing to get the white bug ready in time but it was worth it. I'm happy that the used transmission that I bought from a dude on facebook the week before held together.

I was pretty impressed by that too! It was nice to see that thing out and running again.

This is without a doubt my favorite picture of my '67...

Nothing like a hazy afternoon commute around a lake for some amazing photo ops. I just ignore the boats and pretend it's the Sicilian coastline or maybe the Lost Coast of California...

Got to put a good 200-ish miles on it over the long, hot weekend, some of which included cruising up and down some of my favorite mountain roads with some good friends, but since I was a bit busy driving, I didn't get any good pictures of the group.

Looks good and I’m envious as I started walking to work a couple months ago.
I was always a fan of the UPS Truck black rims and painted my stockers like that years ago.

I've always loved the look of stock 66/67 rims with the hubcaps off, and when I found a pair of them with wider bands, I decided to paint them up properly with a matching pair of stock-width ones for the front. Henry Mayeda's olive green '67 looks hard as nails on the same wheels but all black with raw metal hardware.

Hopefully that's a better resolution without the crappy insta-filter on! I'm glad you like the shot though!

What I really love with this picture and your car is that it is impossible to tell in which years it was taken!
