Brad, is that car ready yet?!
I'm not the only one waiting to see it, I'm sure!

Don't feel bad as Sarge and I have a bit more history under our belts, thus I warrant the hand shake......
Never felt bad about it all... I factored in the years of which you two have spent together.

Neil, nope the cars not ready yet, weddings and houses seem to keep getting in the way.
Engines in, though not for the last time yet. Hopin to get it to the trimmers at some point in the next couple of months.
Speedwell, the wheels were boot polished after blasting. Literally brushed over with black boot polish and then given a coat of wheel wax to seal it.

Very very nice work guys - I knew with a little time and effort they could look as good as the originals
Thanks for all the hints & tips - I love the boot polish idea

I liked this version best. Just put a satin or flat clear over the bare centers to keep them clean easily, and that's the look!

I see what you mean, although I think it was just fine in the first pic. But, the new look and the contrast you're going for is working, too. It helps that the paint isn't glossy — keeping it flat keeps it looking right.
