2009 Goose Island Bourbon County Stout, 13% ABV. One of the best beers I have ever drank. Aged in used Bourbon whiskey barrels for at least 1 year, extremely complex. Lots of honey, vanilla, chocolate and caramel hints.

The guys at BrewDog makes som wikked beer and I have been wanting to try a Paradox for a while. Just tried Isle of Arran, 10% ABV. Really smooth with lots of flavours and a light smoky, roasty whisky taste. About EUR 4,5 for a 330ml over here.

Tonight I'm draining a couple Lagunitas Little Sumpin' Extra double IPAs 8.74% ABV. Quickly becoming my favorite. This is not the same beer I posted a few months ago.

I'll continue the stout trend since its the time of year for it. Steelhead Extra Stout from Mad River Brewing Company. It's best served cool, not cold, and in a glass. They have many good beers and the brewery is 20 min from my house.

You guys have great taste in biers. Good on ya for choosing stouts... those are both great brands.

Tonight, I decided to try something different because I was shocked at the price at Fresh & Easy (stores in So Cal). Steel Kettle Whistle lager. A very light bier, but for $4.99 for a 12pk. I was sold.

Actually, not bad for a light one. If I'm ever broke in the future, I can see maybe trying it again. After this payday, it'll be back to the dark stuff.

I love Mad River's beers. You live in Eureka? There Double IPA is the shit but $13 for a 6 pack keeps me broke sometimes.

That better be some pretty killer brew. I have no problem spending the standard protocol $9.95 for a bottle of Chimay (tall blue one). But now you have me curious regarding this 22oz. model.

Last time I bought one at Marc's Liquor in Lakewood (Bellflower just north of Carson St.), that was the going rate, Jason. Next time I'm in there, I'll have a look and report back.

I liked those so much more when they were still $3.79. Stone beers are going for $7.59 for a 22oz., way too much for an "OK" beer. I did have a couple Stone Old Guardian Barley Wines (11.26% ABV) last weekend on sale for $4.99.
