Its Bug run classic number 3 this weekend at Tierp raceway, with racing both friday and saturday and a very good forecast for the weather things are looking good.

With at least 3 8 second aircooled cars and possibly over 10 9 second cars in the power adder class including the debut of Jyrki's beautifull pauter turbo powered chassis Oval window car and some serious contenders for N/A records in the naturally aspirated class with Jussi's debut of the new split window beetle with big type 4 power we should have some real good times and racing.

We will try to add updates here when we get a chance and hopefully others with more time and computer/phone skills than me will add more info & pictures as well;D

cheers Richie

i've just read this on facebook ...bad thing

by Stian :

Almost crashed the car in the eleminations, lost traction in third gear and got a hell of a ride.. Managed to keep it of the wall, sliding all over the place.

After some transmission problems on friday I managed to do some good passes on saturday the best being 10.81 @ 200.7km/h. And since it is a street car with fan and all I drove it in the ship to Finland. Great event, super nice weather and people. Hope to be back again next year.

Noce Tomi!
How did Jussi and Jyrki do?
I assume they were both testing?

Jussi had some issues with a slipping clutch and then he found out a strange noise from the engine, so he didn't do very well. Jyrki did few passes and broke the gas pedal. I have a new one here waiting to be delivered to Sweden or Norway so he can continue testing at SCC.

We also had a great weekend, and Stian certainly gave me a scare sitting behind him waiting to run myself, thankfully the car in the other lane was well out of the way and Stian managed to keep it the right way up, but we had both had some issues with traction at certain[the same] places on the track with both of us pushing hard to run PBs, which we both did  Smiley and am looking forward to another chance next weekend Grin

A new best of 8.71@248kmh for me and winning the supecharged class were my highlights and if I can just get my 60fts back to the way they were last couple of years then I will actually be able to worry Stian for the title " Europes fastest Aircooled VW"

Well done to everyone who ran PBs, it was particularly good to see Oyvind Berger out in his finally finished race car that got quicker and quicker all weekend as he got more used to it Cool

cheers Richie

Congrats Richie with your PB  Smiley.

Richie that flip bodied beetle looks cool, you have more info on this one.
Now I got to think about it, maybe the Swedish/Danish guys know this but there used to be a same flip bodied car in 80/90 from a guy/comp called Dehlem / Dahlem if I got it correct, which also pivoted from the front.

23 minutes of racing here with JS getting at least 6 of his passes on there and Stians close incident at 11 minute mark mainly out of shot though, 2 of my passes and most of saturdays elimination rounds for all the cars

The other car was sponsored by the vw parts shop Dalhems, I think it was sold to the UK.
Also Ola Øst (true flame oval racer at SCC) built a crazy  showcar/ dragracer with flip body.

This flip body car is Mats Theander from South Sweden.
He built hi own engine and has pretty much stock bus 002 gearbox.
11.9 is hi PB. Car sounds really sweet and nice when he races.
The car was built many years ago (I guess mid 90´s or earlier) and had a 090 bus automatic at the time.
He sits midmounted.

Hi all!

Also PB:d this amazing weekend running 10,62@198km/h - unfortunately I had the #3 rod taking the top off my engine case the last round of qualifying! Hat goes off for Johnny, Richie and Stian for outstanding performance, show and save! Smiley
